And austang, just to clarify, i never said the V8 wasn't a daily drive, just that the Ecoboost was a great option for me as a daily drive. For a start its $10K cheaper and on the basis of my three days behind the wheel, i'm very happy.
I don't think I ever suggested that you said the V8 wasn't a daily drive.  But daily drive only seems to get mentioned when people talk about the 4 cylinder version.

Absolutely. But I am not going to leave it at the dealer for an additional day while they organise it.  I will get it done in a few weeks.

I meant to say in my post with the pictures.  These pictures and even the best pictures online don't do justice to the car in the flesh. It looks stunning!!

Great stuff austang, the wait is over.
The race red one I saw over the weekend had the nickel wheels. its a matter of choice but I reckon the black ones are my preference.
Enjoy.

Thanks Hi Ho.  Only one more sleep.  I prefer the black wheels too but from previous posts in this thread I know a lot of people prefer the nickel wheels, so I thought it might be helpful to explain why some are being delivered with nickel wheels when they weren't ordered as the optional extra.
Enjoy your conv. It looks fantastic in Ruby Red.

I can't believe the position of the hand brake is on the left passenger side seat though????? That is not a right hand side built car as they have stated. The only thing mirrored was the dash and steering wheel. That's pretty poor.

While I am still excited about getting the car I think we in Australia get pretty screwed.

No line lock feature
No tribar lights
No red tail lights
No sequential signals
Less Rim options

and about a 20k mark up.

booooo

Id assume the ones being delivered now are the 2015 models hopefully they can make improvements on the 2016 arrivals.

My dealer got an email regarding an issue with the nickel wheels from Ford Australia. I assume other dealers also got it. I am not sure what the issue was however so it could be what you describe.

Dingo breath my Stang says its a 16 build so I seriously doubt there will be any changes for the cars that have been ordered thus far.
I saw the sequential indicators when i was in the US and it was rad, probably the only feature I'd really like to have (and of course the $20K price reduction!) Pretty happy with the black rims..they look hot.

The 2016 model is supposed to at least have hood indicators and the upgraded touch sceen software. So far the ones I have seen delivered do not have the hood indicators, only the interface upgrade.

Ive just continued my insurance with RACV but will shop in the next few weeks, about $110 a month. I don't know if that's good or not. Have a very good driving history.

Very very nice and thanks for posting up the photos  :thumb:   I still think the hand brake looks wrong over on the passenger side ,maybe  it should have been put on the floor next to the brake pedal like earlier models .
Anyway enjoy your new toy .
My VR SS Commodore has the handbrake on the passenger side!....no problem
If you haven't grown up & matured by the age of 55, (65 now & nothin has changed) YOU DON'T HAVE TOO.....Gary

Hi Ho, can you confirm:
- any parking sensors front or back (or just the reversing camera?)
- just standard cruise control? (ie not adaptive)
- no cross traffic alert for parking?

thanks

Ian

I hope its put on before its shipped to stop it rusting not painting over rust.

In terms of the 2.3 / V8 debate, I currently drive a Mondeo with the 2.0l Ecoboost, and love the engine.  I love the way the power comes on, and it has heaps of power for highway overtaking with only a small lag.  I did some calculations - the Mustang and the Mondeo are (as far as I can determine) basically the same weight (and same length to the cm).  This means the 2.3 Ecoboost Mustang has a 50% improved power-to-weight ratio over my Mondeo, so it's going to have plenty of power.

However, having said all that, emotions are too strong, and mine is going to be the GT !  (with over double the power-to-weight ratio of the Mondeo )

Like Ian, I also have both a modern 4cyl turbo car (non-Ford) and a V8 classic Mustang and love them both for different reasons.

If I was lucky enough to be taking delivery of a new Mustang, engine choice would be simple:  if it was going to be a daily driver it would be the EcoBoost, otherwise the V8.  As mentioned above, the EcoBoost should have ample power for the daily grind while being lighter on fuel.  On the other hand, if you're after a weekend warrior you can't beat the sound and fury of the V8.

Congrats to all those waiting on delivery of their new baby!  :thumb:

If I was lucky enough to buy a new mustang and I am not ,for a Dailey driver the 4 cyl turbo ,weekend warrior the V8 .  As for performance  consider this ,the 4 cyl ecoboost is  as quick as a 20012 commodore SS 6 lt over the 400 m  , around 14 flat ,so wow it is quick . Ok take the 1971 falcon GT HO Phase 111 ,well people  about the same 1/4 time but the mustang is just a little quicker  :thud: .  The  new V8 GT mustang runs around 12.9 @ around 110 mph and let me tell you that is very quick for a std production car . So for all the knockers out there be careful when driving your classic mustang and a new 4 cyl mustang pulls up beside you because it most likely will blow your doors off  :lmao: .

Very rational argument for the Ecoboost ‘Stang Glenn.  Hopefully, that logic will open a few more eyes as to the street cred of a high performance 4 over an 8.
This Ecoboost is a 4 but in the Mustang, not as we know it Jim !!  (apologies to u Trekkies).  :agree:

The Princess has an MY12 SS Bogandore and it amazes me how quick that thing is when i drive it on the highway, yet how docile it is when she drives it to the supermarket.

Holden set the throttle response that way so they are fairly tame under light throttle.
But boot it and when it hits 3000rpm it comes alive.

21 on pickup yesterday.

746 today at home

Mostly used the snow/wet mode driving up the coast from Sydney today - add aquaplaning/deepwater too that as well.

Happy to say that the vert is super dry inside which is a feat considering what has been thrown at it.

Cheers
