Well, we are a week into November now, has Ford delivered a new Mustang to anyone yet?
...or even contacted contracted buyers as to build info as was stated in earlier sales pitches?....One thing's 4sure, it will happen! ....let the party begin

I was told today from a mate that has also ordered one that there are 150 on a ship on its way to Australia now and that you can track the ship. He got the info from another Ford forum but I can't remember which one it was. The link below confirms they are enroute.

Welcome Ron, looking forward to seeing pics of your car when it arrives.

What is the name of the ship so we can track it.

I was telling my father, who's 85, about the long wait for the 2015 Mustang.

He told me my uncle ordered a Morris just after the war, 1945, they took a small deposit and notified him of the delivery........ three years later with a different model, colour and engine size than he had ordered and over twice the price!

Guess times haven't changed all that much. Can't see Ford staying as a major car supplier in this country if they keep this level of service up! Looks like three to four months delivery time will be their best to be expected.

This is a sign of the times, over the past 8 years, I have changed my daily driver for work, each time I was told by Nissan and Toyota at the time, there was a six month wait as I wanted a particular colour, or I wanted a manual car, so I suspect car companies like other global firms, start supplying to order, rather than have working capital tied up in car yards, In Fords case, it seems its clearly underestimated the global demand, and they cant turn them out quick enough.

In Japan they call it JIT.   Just In Time supply.

In Australia we call it TFL.  Too F@#king Late.

Ford lost its sales in Australia by poor promotion of models offered.

Fire the Upper management and Advertising clowns!

Shame all the great work real dedicated Ford Oz management like Bill Bourke, Geoff Polites, Bill Dix etc did in the past by creating a real legacy of performance and popularity in their cars and advertising (eg. Superoo, Mustang bred Falcon, Falcon GT - the ultimate road car) and took them to number one in sales in the early Eighties.
This new crop of septic uni graduates at Ford Oz are bland bean counters and detached marketers who have overseen Ford’s great legacy slip behind boring stale product from Toyota and Hyundai.  Treating customers like commodities waiting years for a car makes them look more out of touch against the onslaught of boring cars that more Australians seem to buy.  Ford has great product but they couldn’t educate the market if they tried, should let Mazda  market Ford Oz cars.
The leadership at Ford Oz are asleep at the wheel and we need a new Bill Bourke in this day and age to rev things up.    :soapbox:

This is the marine traffic site for tracking of ships. I first used it when I was tracking my old Boss when it came over

I can't seem to work it out???

Search for the ship name in the search field at the top right then select the ship from the list that comes up. Then scroll down and you will see a small map with words similar to 'find current location' and it should bring it up. You will only see it when it is in an area that can be tracked. Hope that helps a bit.
