I guess I just don't have the trouble with getting spark plugs out that you guys do... :lmao:

(The engine bay has been tidied up a lot more since that photo was taken!)

Friday morning I swapped the old fan belt which was starting to come apart, it almost snapped when I folded it up to get a new one!
.. Thursday afternoon I got the rocker cover to seal properly before going for a drive

nice looking bay

You need some shorter leads.

They are a bit long, but they've been tidied up a lot more than they were in that photo so they don't look anywhere near as bad..

I know your feeling GT350H.
I have at least ten modified sockets in my toolbox to cater for all diferrent engine types i have to work on with extractors. Windsors and small block chevs are the most difficult ones due to ther compact designs.
To answer your highlighted question, NO. You have to make your own. The last one I have modified I had to weld a nut on the end of a normal spurk plug socket so I can put a socket on top of the socket.....get it?

Cheers.

Yep, that's my tool box - modified sockets and spanners - its a PITA but its all cool.
Thanks mate.

Another trick is after you get the plug loose ,take the socket off and get a piece of 3/8 fuel line about 50/60 mm long and slide it over the plug and just unwind the plug out ,helps to not drop it also .To refit do the same until tight then nip up with socket .Can also help to grind around outer edge of plug socket if its too thick ,cheap brands are .

I'll keep an eye out for the champion set.

I tried the 3/8 hose and it was good once you cracked the plug. My socket has been ground down so much IM worried that it might crack
Its all good, thanks for the advice  :thumb:

The champion set was not a whole socket set only the bend ratchet the 1 inch extension and a 5/8 and 13/16 plug socket .There must be other brands that will do the job .Without that ratchet and only a straight one makes it a very hard job on most mustangs with the larger engines .

Had planned on going on the club run up to the Megalong Valley in the Blue Mountains for lunch but woke to steady rain and was a late scratching. Did the next best thing and did a bit of tinkering on the '68 coupe - installed the TEFBA radiator filter that arrived during the week and also put my NOS antistall dashpot in.  :smile01:

Dashpot set up -

Tefba filter - worked out well with the cap of the filter at about the same level as the radiator cap.

Bought a new 'smart' battery charger so there's plenty of juice for starting time.

Guilty of leaving the vents on the fastback open for it's first wash. Haven't done it since.

I bought some $50 (luxury- oh yeah) car mats from Supercheap Auto and some iron on logos from Ebay. They look a treat and fit perfectly. I got the idea from someone else's post on the forum. Great suggestion whoever that was!

I cleaned and washed all 3 Mustangs today so the bride can take her pick as to which one to take on Sundays lunch run.All gassed and ready to roar. All we need is Tim Bailey to be right with Sunday's weather.
