Long wait for import approval

Thought stuck a feather in the ground and thought he'd grow a chook but all he got was an Indian. I don't hate you guys I'm just trying to make the most of my wait of over a year to get my car on the road. It's like waiting for a train that never arrives. The boredom is only over ridden by the feeling of being a kid with a new toy and not being allowed to get the toy out of the box. I'm just trying to pass the time.:banghead:

I think the confusion was they thought you were saying the car had some face lift and the inspector or buyer wasn't good enough to pick it as being dodgy?

s

:agree: Exactly, its all good, i just thought it was a stupid thing to say for something that had absolutely nothing to do with the thread, what has a facelift got to do with import approval times, and yes it was none of your buisness.

And is it your business to police me? Are you the forum mediator. If I want to ask a question I am free white and 21. I'm sure if the person posting the post does not want me to know what condition hios car is in he'll simply not tell me. You start saying all is good but go on to say "i just thought it was a stupid thing to say for something that had absolutely nothing to do with the thread, what has a facelift got to do with import approval times, and yes it was none of your buisness. "

hello, asking someone what condition a car is in is not quite as hurtful as saying "i just thought it was a stupid thing to say for something that had absolutely nothing to do with the thread, what has a facelift got to do with import approval times, and yes it was none of your buisness. "

Time to give it a rest, otherwise lock the thread.

It's going way off topic.

Sounds like your last one was last in the container and the one before was first in and had to wait for the container to fill with other cars.

MachAttack, I'm still waiting and I think you got yours after mine?

I've heard of some who had theirs sent while the approval was pending.

All well and good if it's approved but if your car arrives and has to wait over here till it's approved they charge like a wounded bull for storage.

Matt said in a previous post that yours was on the same approval or are you waiting on another? 3 VINs on my approval, 2 Mustangs and something a little different.

Won't be long now........

Matt said in a previous post that yours was on the same approval

I actually had the approval sent prior and the car was then ready to ship no problems.

I noticed the certificate of title from the original owner had a 9 instead of an R (typo).

In the meantime I got the title changed (just in case) and Matt in his quick thinking also applied for another import approval with correct VIN, that was the one that was on your list.

It didn't delay the process as Schumacher got it all ready to go after the first approval.  They then had to wait for more cars to fill the container before shipping.

It's only the one car.

Schumacher documents say it's on the Cosco China, Freightnet docs say it's on Cosco Zhong He. That ship tracker for some reason didn't work for me, both ships out of range.

It was supposed to get here on Thursday but delayed, should be here possibly today, Freightnet said to add 7-10 days for customs clearance.

That shipping tracker only worked when the vessel was close to land as it's a live tracker. Picked the ship up in Auckland and when nearing Melbourne.
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/

The other site only shows when the ship volunteers it's location and weather data, ranging from 6 hour updates to 48 hours.  Following it helped the wait go quicker. :smile01:
http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shiplocations.phtml
This site syas the Cosco China is travelling from China to the US at the moment so I'm guessing your car is not on this ship. It has no data at all for the Cosco Zhong He, infact every Cosco named vessel is currently in the Northern Hemisphere. Perhaps the names supplied to you are wrong. If it's due tomorrow it could even be on the same ship as mine as it's currently underway to Sydney.

Edit: Do a search on that first site for Zhong He, drop the Cosco. It's just off Sydney.

I kept getting data that the Cosco China was hopping to all the Chinese ports but was heading a bit north.

Zhong He is owned by Cosco, this table has the Zhong He arriving in Sydney today 10pm.
