A little off topic re the "vert" but just out of curiosity ... repairs to the Triton. My guess $5500??

They quoted insurance company $7500, and it's now closing in on $12000. The silly buggers didn't think the chassis was bent and the whole steering was buggered. When I had a good look I thought it would be writen off. I'm think thinking they wish they had of now too.

Crackers, it's 1966 Ford Candy apple red, but we cleared over the top, gives it a bit more life.

Educated guess, final invoice to the insurance company $14200.00 incl GST. Not a hard repair but the parts cost is a killer. labour & paint component would be lucky to hit 5k.

One down, and I'm not even going to think about the rest. As Nike say "Just do it"

Chad, I'll give you tip. Rub it but don't cut it straight away. The paint is still green. Leave it once you rub it ,it opens the surface and lets more solvent comes out, if you cut it straight away it will dull off in a month or so and the scratches will come out and you'll have to cut it again. . Rub it, then cut  a little while later. Cut it with Fercula G6 & G10

Cheers shaun, we'll rub back and leave for a bit then. We use to use fercula but have gone to Gelson 1890 and 1870, found it dosen't leave the swirls that fercula did and alot easier to use, then go over with the T100.

Fercula should be ok, depending on the sponge you are using. 3M perfectit works ok as a final swirl remover.

Nothing wrong with the colour, but the guy paying the bills wanted red.

we finished the first stages of polishing, but will wait until final fit up to finish off. Got the bonnet and boot on.

then tackled the doors, not fun but got them fitted fine
