One of the first, there will be 500 before years end, maybe 1500 by march...but black roof (not in fotos) & supercharger mod (not shown)? Now that IS a bargain @ $75k....as they say in the movies..."tell him he's dreamin"

Buyer beware, Neil the seller has amen delivery, Ford will not let you sell the purchase order, if any buyer cancels an order or does not take delivery, the car goes to the next order waiting, not even dealers get a say in this, I was told if a dealer does allow a seller to do this, they will not have any orders filled for six months, as punishment.

From the Ebay listing it sounds like he is going to take delivery of the car then you would have to buy it from him, otherwise why is he asking $75K?  If he was just trying to sell his order it should be a much lower figure.

One of the lowest forms of life if you ask me - putting your hand up for something you don't want to try and flip it for a profit to some desperate soul.  No better than a ticket scalper but on a much larger scale.

My apologies if the guy ordered the car in good faith then got some devastating news, etc. but it sure smells rotten...

Yep, in effect he's selling a car that he doesn't have.

Wonder if he got permission from Ford or whoever to use those stock photos?

I totally agree; he's basically just a scalper.

He can list it for what he likes but I hope it works out as the rule of thumb goes; a new car loses 15-20% the moment you drive it off the car lot.

I really hope nobody is desperate enough to pay that much for one; there's bound to be more sellers who either don't like it or sell theirs soon after they take delivery, for whatever other reasons.

So I wonder when he buys  it does  the dealer put  it into his name (rego I mean) and he pays stamp duty and rego cost ? .If he doesn't the guy makes even more money because of no on road costs . He will make money out of this deal with the people that want one and won't wait ,how much more they will pay who knows . I see the buyer pays stamp duty etc in his ad .

I can't see how they can stop him really . If ford sells it to him legit then he wants to sell it so be it . It pees me off what he is doing but how can you stop it . People are doing it with the last of the falcon GT . Buying them brand new ,not driving them and reselling them for more money .

Dealer told my that ford are actively trying to stop this sort of thing, because he has advertised it before he has taken possession they will cancel his order.
If he has a financial issue and cant afford the car they would have just given his deposit back and it would have gone to next person in line that ordered a car like it.
It is also why the dealers are not allowed to order extra cars and then sell them at higher than market value to people that don't want to wait for 12+ month delivery

I would think there will be a few available off the Dealers floors that have been ordered in staff members names. The dealer pays for them outright when they arrive and secures floor stock, happens all the time in the Ag industry.

If it's legal and someone is prepared to pay what he's asking then what's the problem? It seems that people are getting their nickers in a twist over something that is none of their business. The potential buyer might weigh up the pros/cons of a 12 month wait from Ford or an instant realization of his/her dreams. The extra cost might far outweigh the stress of waiting 12 months.

True but if they get wind of him trying to sell it prior to him receiving it; I assume they'll need substantial proof; they could revoke his purchase and give it to the next guy in line.

Free Enterprise. If it s legal .....

It may fall under scalping law; where the person is selling prior to the product being on the market and making a profit that should be going to the artist or promoter; not the scalper.  After the concert or once it leaves the showroom; it's a free world.

I hear Katy Perry or her promoter set aside a number of tickets to scalp themselves; the profit margin is so large they figure why not have a piece of the action.

Then I don't suppose you have a problem with someone snapping up large blocks of tickets to a sold out event and re-selling them for substantially more than their face value?

When there is a limited supply of any sought after product, ideally access to it should be made on a fair and equitable basis to all and regardless of how this guy is running his show it's not a good look in that context.

It's exactly for this reason we have anti-scalping laws rather than just 'whatever the market will bear'.
Cheers,
Brian

Scalping is illegal but for some reason the govt. cracks down on sporting events but turns a blind eye to music events. I'm not sure if it's legal or not on ebay. Selling VIN tags is illegal on ebay and even when you report them ebay doesn't remove the listing; greedy bastards.

People flip Mustangs all the time.

Scalping blocks of tickets is a bit different than buying one $65,000 car and trying to flip it for a profit.    And scalping tickets for more than a 10% bump is illegal, at least in Qld.  But if someone buys a ticket legally, and then sells it legally as its in-demand for a 50% profit and both parties are happy, I couldn't care less.  Others can hold their own opinions.

Someone invested 65k and hopes to resell and make some money on a popular item... the sky is falling... not.

How Ford could cancel the contract is very suspect.  He agreed to buy it, not keep it for any predetermined length of time.  If s/he's put a deposit on it long ago and if he/she meets the contract terms... Ford can get stuffed.   I'd be seeking legal advice and looking at suing Ford for breach of contact if they renege on the contract... I guess builders/contractors selling homes off the plan should be stopped too.. and anyone buying futures in the stock market, etc, etc, etc... same concept sell what you don't own, very common business (like a CJ Pony that orders parts after you do then drop ships and freight forwards, holding your payment as float... should they be stopped too??) ...  they make money... a disgrace, as those scumbags are profiteering!!!  :smile01:

Comrades unite against the imperialist capitalist scum mongers!

I find the angst over this is quite amusing...  I guess anyone selling a car please post details here for approval prior to offering it on the open market!

People flip Mustangs all the time.

The second hand market is a totally different ballpark.

It will all depend on what is in the contract; if Ford had the foresight to predict a long waiting list they may have included a clause in the contract to show goodwill to their clientele; a moral obligation to their loyal customers perhaps? If there is such a clause then they could revoke the buyer's contract if they can prove a breach of conditions. When you sign on the dotted line you abide by whatever conditions you've undersigned.
