Hi Everyone,

Quick question concerning communication from ford America. Apparently my mustang begins being built today, or tomorrow as we are ahead of America obviously. Just wondering when you start getting some sort of feedback from them. At the moment all I have been given is a build number (from the local dealer) and yet to receive anything else.

Cheers

Can someone suggest me what sort of stripes will look good on a Magnetic? And what colour stripes.

I am not sure whether stripes look any good on a magnetic, it was just a thought.

Thanks

My excitement for mustang is building up even though its few months away!  :pepper:

I went ahead and ordered my personalised plates. I have been putting it off for many months and when I logged in today to myplates - I was pleasantly surprised. They now have plates with mustang tri bar logo  :event: They look awesome...just absolutely fantastic

Just checked out the pricing for NSW Mustang plates. Good grief! Purchase price plus $440 per year. Down here it's a one off charge of $495 and that's it.

Vic government gets you with speeding fines, in NSW we still get ripped off, just in other ways.

My order was $295 for a Personlised plate, which is still very high and that's why I thought about it for ages but looking at the mustang plates, I caved in  Now, it be plain toast and jam for rest of the year  :thud:

Congratulation! Your car should be built very soon

At the top of the Window Sticker there is a "Blend" number... remove the 1 and then read the numbers in YYYYMMDD format and you should have your build date.  :thumb:

That is awesome...you can track your car very soon as it takes the journey from USA East coast to us. I think steps in below forum should help tracking-

Salesman said he was going to see it in their 'pre delivery yard' and said he'd take a photo and SMS it to me. As soon as I have it I will post it. And probably half a thousand more over the next week!

Dwayne - yeah, really excited about it now. It was a slow burn for a year and a bit, but I am feeling it now. Definitely.

Dealers are renowned for having less than perfect pre-deliver wash processes. Sometimes, tiny scratches get into the clear coat and it then takes your detailer a couple of hours extra work to get them out again if you intend on having it in showroom condition. I am getting after market paint protection applied - Opticoat Pro - but there are plenty of them available - and I don't want the expense of getting the detailer to do the extra work getting out the little micro scratches if it is not needed.

Thought it may be something along those lines.  Good luck with the delivery.

Opticoat-pro is a really great product. I had it on my wife's car, and put Kamikaze Miyabi on my caprice. Topped them both with Kamikaze Overcoat.

Two bucket wash method and  they both still look amazing and swirl free

Dealers usually fill the tiny scratches with a glaze that only lasts a couple of washes. The pro's actually fix them and then apply long lasting protection.

Elite Finish in Somerton Park have a great reputation but there's a few others listed as authorised.  The application is fairly straight forward, the quality difference is in the preparation polishing beforehand.

I'll be at the club meeting next week if you want to pick my brain.

Sounds like the next shipment of 2016 Mustangs has just arrived in Perth. I've got 1 coming in on Friday & possibly 3 next week for exhaust upgrades.

had my 5L manual on the hoist at my sons Resto Shop yesterday prior to its' "PEACE OF MIND"  inspection @ FORD today, definitely looks like an upgrade will be a big PLUS......Exhausted, what are you fitting/recommending, what differences are noticeable & how does it affect Ford warranty?
I'm in Sydney unfortunately.
