FYI,

The window sticker is not accurate.
There is a disclaimer that states "STANDARD EQUIPMENT LIST MAY NOT APPLY IN EXPORT MARKETS".

Refer to the website "http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do" which states what it has and what has been removed from the standard config.

I ordered mine (Magnetic GT manual) March 2015
Build date 28/Jan 2016
Loaded onto the "Fidelio" at Baltimore today 13/March for Pacific cruise to Aus.

Forgive the Plagiarism but the following link came from another Mustang owners post back in December and maybe of use.

Hi Jarv23.
I message Ford Australia  via Facebook and they were very helpful. They were able to tell me that my car had arrived at Baltimore on 18 February  and they say on average cars sit on the docks for 20 days. Once its loaded on a vessel  you can track via 2wglobal  web site, shipping tools, track and trace. You then enter your vin number into the Cargo ID. If your car is loaded you then can track its movements.
Hope this helps. Also, I did receive an email from Ford Australia letting me know that my car had left Flatrock and i would receive an other email once my mustang was on its way to Australia.

Thanks sim67, appreciate the info and will give it a go. Have been trying my VIN as the CargoID on the 2wglobal track & trace site daily but no joy yet.

Cheers,

Jarv23

I wouldn't believe anything Ford Australia tell you. The 20 days they quoted is a lie.

My car was manufactured on 10 December 2015 and was placed on a ship on 29 February 2016. That's a bit longer than 20 days. At no point could they tell me what was going on and when the car would board as ship. Both them and the selling dealer have been useless and incompetent.

Hi Musang_GT, I agree, Ford have been absolutely no help at all since they took my deposit back in Mar 2015. I even had the sales manager at my Dealer ask me to inform him when I heard anything from the Mustang Team at Ford AU (fat chance)! Everything I have learned about the process has come from the users of this forum, very grateful for that. Sorry to hear your Stang sat on the docks at Baltimore for so long, hope you get it soon!

Cheers,

Jarv23

Initially the dealer advised me delivery would be circa 15 February 2016. So I sold my car early February. Then I got told 1 March. That then changed to mid March. Now it's end of April. I'm without a car and am sharing my with my wife. Dealer blames Ford Australia and vica versa. It's the blind leading the blind.

I suggest you ask the dealer for a loan car.  I am surprised they didn't offer you one.

As I have said before the Australian section of the forum www.mustang6g.com was and still is very much the go to source for the new Mustang. Nothing against this forum. I believe from what I have experienced with my purchase and from what I have read the buck stops with lack of communication between Ford USA and Ford Australia. I have a close friend who is a Sales Manager for a Ford Dealership and they find they are as much in the dark as we are and hate the lack of communication between Ford USA and Ford Australia.

My car was placed on a ship on 29 February. ETA to Melbourne is 4 April 2016. Then I'm sure Ford will work a way to delay the car then. Dealer tells me they expect the. Car around 24 April 2016.

Sunshine ford gave me one a little Ford Focus have had it for a month now while I'm waiting for my mustang to be fixed. In the end it nearly got a full respray and new drivers seat.

My advise to everyone is to check over your car before you take it. My paint was so thin on the quarter panel you could see the primer in the sunlight underneath.

Ford - the gift that keeps on giving.

This is unacceptable for a car manufacturer in 2016.

Never purchased a Ford previously. Now I know why.

Ford AU just called me to give me an update on where my GT Ragtop is. When the nice lady started telling me about the docking dates, and I said those didn't match the published docking dates for that ship, she went away to check. Then said she'd need to find out more and ring me back.

Not sure who is doling out the information at Ford AU to the poor buggers making the calls, but I think that area needs some more ATD.

I agree, they sent me an email last week advising me that my car had been built but as I couldn't find details on the ETIS site I questioned it with my dealer and today received an email that the build had been put off until 28 March (25 days later than I was advised earlier).
