Put the new plates on today, ended up just modifying the factory for the front:

And he looks pretty good next to his little (Ecoboost) brother too :)

Couldn't help myself too and got the Ford carbon fibre gear knob, so shiny lol

I don't think Ford discriminate. I was told that orders are processed and delivered based on the order date.  I ordered my GT on 13 December 2014.  The deposit was paid and the order was in the Ford system that day.  My GT was delivered on 4 January 2016.  If you paid your deposit on 4 December 2014, did the dealer put the order in the system that day, or when you paid your deposit.

I am just trying to clear up your source of frustration.  :ouch:  But don't worry, it will be a joy when you get it.  :thumb:

Unfortunately that's not quite how it worked. Your Ford dealer held your funds in vitro locally until the official order book opened on 10th or 12th March and then they had to punch all the orders in to the Ford Aus system. Unfortunately that then relied on the local dealer being proactive and getting the orders in as that denoted where people ended up in the queue.

I paid my deposit and had my order raised on 12th March 2015 - build was 14th October 2015 and delivered 16th January 2016.

Not going to argue with you mate, but I saw the sales guy put the order in the system and read news reports on the pre-order system Ford had developed.  Your build and delivery dates were similar to mine anyway.  I was just trying to help Mustang_GT vent his frustration in the appropriate direction.  He can take it out on me if it helps.

This is exactly how it worked, I ordered Oct 2014, carbon paper contract, no figures, March I was asked to go in & sign computer generated contracted with the final cost. Orders taken before March I believe had priority, but had not been ordered. I was told I was 4th on my dealers list & as it transpired, I was approximately the 4th delivery at that dealer on Jan 29th....my build date was also 14th Oct, 49 years & 364 days after my '66 GT Coupe!

Unfortunately that is due to about 1,400 orders getting entered in between 12th and 14th March as dealers went in to overdrive.

The beauty of it all you summed up too - it's well worth the wait =)

I actually feel more sorry for the new Focus RS customers... that waiting list is stretching out A LOT longer. My dealer said today that they will be lucky to get 1 per year for their allocation... gulp...

I wouldn't be surprised. My dealer told me that the priority orders needed to be ordered by 31 March 2015 so I am assuming that the orders were entered after that which explains why my dealer has orders trickling in.

Welcome sim67,

How do you know your Stang is sitting at the docks at Baltimore if you don't mind me asking? My car was built on 25th Feb, but I don't know how to track it from Flat Rock to Baltimore, is there a way to do this?

Thanks for your help,

Jarv23

Hi Jarv23.
I message Ford Australia  via Facebook and they were very helpful. They were able to tell me that my car had arrived at Baltimore on 18 February  and they say on average cars sit on the docks for 20 days. Once its loaded on a vessel  you can track via 2wglobal  web site, shipping tools, track and trace. You then enter your vin number into the Cargo ID. If your car is loaded you then can track its movements.
Hope this helps. Also, I did receive an email from Ford Australia letting me know that my car had left Flatrock and i would receive an other email once my mustang was on its way to Australia.

I wouldn't believe anything Ford Australia tell you. The 20 days they quoted is a lie.

My car was manufactured on 10 December 2015 and was placed on a ship on 29 February 2016. That's a bit longer than 20 days. At no point could they tell me what was going on and when the car would board as ship. Both them and the selling dealer have been useless and incompetent.

Hi Sim67,great news about your car,i may see you around,i dont think we will see that many new mustangs around the newcastle area for a couple of years.Eventually they will be everwhere cause they are so cool.
