I'm still waiting for someone to take delivery of their car built in 2016 to see if they actually will have the turn signals in the hood as per 2016 models.

That's generally not how model years (ie 2016) works. 2016 cars will have started being built in August or September 2015. So almost guaranteed all cars landed so far are 2016 models.

Aren't the hood turn signals built into the vents in the hood? If that is the case, I doubt they will be part of the Australian models.

Built on 30 Nov, shipped from Baltimore on 24 Dec, arrived in MLB 26 Jan, available at dealer on 15 Feb.

So about 10 - 11 weeks from build date to the Dealer for yours Salthorse. I realise the waiting time at port to get on a ship can vary significantly but this is encouraging, thanks for the info.

Cheers

I looked at Shannons  however now that I am older than 50 now APIA gave me the best deal and charge nothing more to pay by the month.

Sounds like you got a great deal on insurance Greg, thanks for the info.

Anyone else in NSW taken delivery and sorted insurance on their Mustang?

No you cannot track the car from Flat Rock to Baltimore. Mine was built 11/12 and sat at the port for 53 days. Some hardly sit at all. Then 4 to 5 weeks sailing and whatever on top of that. A real test of patience.

Ok thanks for the info russ68, fingers crossed you get your Mustang sooner rather than later!

Hi Jarv23

My build date was the 8th December. I haven't been given a set date yet as to how long it will take till I can pick her up. However when a friend got hers it took approximately a week to get to the dealer then they had it for a few days so I'm going to say about 2 weeks as I am getting them to tint my windows for me.

I will let you know when I know more. Bec  :smile01:

Highly unlikely as even the 2015 build cars don't have the vents in the bonnet which are standard for the GT in the USA

Was under the impression that the bonnet vents only come with the Performance Pack Option in the USA. Happy to stand corrected. Performance Pack could not be made ADR compliant.

Hey guys, just signed up but I've been reading for a couple of months now. Thank you for all the information, it's been more help than any other avenue! Deep Impact Blue GT is supposedly ment to arrive Aug/Sept or so they've told me.

I was talking with Ford Australia the other week and letting them know of my disappointment in there decision not to have the indicating hood vents in Aus! Which I was really looking forward to. They also talk about the LED's briefly. Thought I'd share there response with the new community...

Ford Australia:

Happy to clarify regarding hood vents that are optional in the North American Market. The RHD Mustang has been built as a 'world car' so has specifications that make it compliant in Europe. Europe has strict rules in place that deal with pedestrian impact protection and the Aussie Mustang conforms to EU Pedestrian Protection Regulation, which is amongst the toughest globally and more stringent than the regulations that US Mustangs need to comply with. Part of the RHD Mustang’s pedestrian impact protection is an ‘active’ bonnet, which uses pyrotechnics to deploy the bonnet from the hinges when the vehicle senses an impact. This provides more protection to a pedestrian and reduces the likelihood of serious injury. The bonnet vents are not compatible with the 'active' bonnet and so are not included. The 'active' bonnet is not part of the specification for US Mustangs, which allows the vents to be on these vehicles. Similiar story with the tri bar LEDs, they don't comply with European standards. Therefore the daytime running lights are incorporated in the front fog lamps and the LED lights in the headlamps are not present. The bars instead are a translucent plastic assembly which reflect the beam from the main headlight unit so when the main beam is on, viewed from some angles there is the visual effect of being lit. Hope this clarifies. FordService^JS

Still not sure exactly why we can not have them to be honest, as apparently other vehicles with the 'active' bonnet have hood vents in some way, shape or form. And I still am struggling to understand the impact in having them to not having them and how it would honestly make any difference at all. I feel it's just laziness... just like the handbrake.

Ford Australia and their dealer network are totally incompetent.

I ordered my car on 4 December 2014. Car was manufactured on 10 December 2015.

Earlier this year the dealer told me delivery will be 12 Februry 2016. About 6 weeks ago this was revised to 1 March 2016.

Now I have been told the car has still NOT left the US. Revised delivery date is end of April 2016.

The idiots can't track the car and have no idea what's going on. You really wonder how these people are still in business.
Hey mate, I received an email a little over two weeks ago from ford Australia with tracking saying that my car was almost in Australian waters, but the email said it had just been built shipped, local ford dealer info said the car was still at Baltimore  port as of four days ago, so the info the dealers get is not very good from what I've seen.

Nice Bec! Looks amazing! How did the delivery go?
I've been hearing reports of issues with a some deliveries. Scratchings, interior issues. I even spoke to the dealer the other day and they told me they had to re apply the racing strips to a car that came in last week when the car arrived at the dealer damaged 😁😁😁

Congrats :)
Your car was manufactured on 8 December 2015 and you take delivery this week. Mine was manufactured on 10 December 2015 and I'm told I have to wait another 2 months. This is the part I don't understand. It clearly shows that Ford have no idea how to manage their inventory.

It's a very difficult system to get your head around. Mine was built on Dec 11th, and it currently (well, 18 hours ago) on the RO RO docked in Panama awaiting a slot to get through the canal. Scheduled to unload in MEB on Mar 26th.

Mine was built on the 18th December and is currently west of Papeete, next stop Auckland. There was a bit of a stuff up when loading my mustang on the boat, they loaded it as if the final destination was Melbourne (instead of Port Kembla). So the mustang will stay on the boat when in port at Port Kembla on the 14th March, continue to Melbourne, unloaded and then put onto another ship back to Port Kembla on the 18th March (go Ford USA!). I'm thinking I'll receive it at the end of the first week of April.... :evilone:

Thought this would be as good a place as any for my first post.  I have on order a Competition Orange manual GT fastback.  Have been reading posts for quite some time now and it is just making the wait that much harder.  Still to hear when my car is leaving US let alone arriving down under.  Ordered Sept last year and was told I would get it around Oct this year, here's hoping.
