Yes they are all 2016s

Not sure about that - our door build sticker says 15/9/15, asked dealer and he said that cars built in 2015 were plated 2015.

Just got home after a 7 hr drive, will check the plate and get back to you.

Cheers

Ive just continued my insurance with RACV but will shop in the next few weeks, about $110 a month. I don't know if that's good or not. Have a very good driving history.

We are with NRMA - basic comprehensive (online) was $600.65, comprehensive plus is $742.

Both with agreed value of $58K

We do have 6 policies with them, live rural NSW, both drivers over 50 and no finance.

Allianz won't quote/insure mustangs.

Shannons were over $1K

Cheers

Hi Ho, can you confirm:
- any parking sensors front or back (or just the reversing camera?)
- just standard cruise control? (ie not adaptive)
- no cross traffic alert for parking?

thanks

Ian

1. No and yes
2. Not sure what you mean by adaptive - it does change down gears on steep hills to keep speed at set limit - slightly annoying.
3. No

Cheers

Not going to give away all the secrets but a couple of things to keep in mind before taking delivery:

1. There is no spare or run flat wheel - just a pump to reinflate a tyre to get you somewhere to safety/fix it.

You could just call the roadside service - I've ordered the spare wheel kit which is the small spare, jack and tools needed.

Take a can of inflating foam when you pick it up.

2. Someone in the US forgot to put the box of 2nd/spare keys with the shipped cars (on our boat anyway) - hopefully will

arrive soon, so don't lose the one they give you.

There are some good surprises too  :thumb:

Adaptive cruise control (as in my Mondeo) has a radar to detect the speed of the car in front, and slow-down to match its speed.

The VIN #'s we are receiving are 2016...ie, 1FA------G5------.  The G before the 5 indicates 2016 (2015 is "F"). Shannons Ins call mine a 2015 model because of the build date October 2015. Can't wait to see what NSW RMS put on my rego, the sales contract states 2016. There are various links in previous posts here where one can check the VIN (VinAudit.com), window stickers & VIN decoders.

Just out of curiosity To anyone who has picked up their Mustang how many kilometres are on the clock when you got it
Just picked up my Race Red GT a couple of hours ago.  I saw it yesterday pre-delivery and it had 14.5 kms.  On pickup today it had 20 kms.  BTW, it was the first one delivered by Knox Ford.  A blue GT arrived in the same delivery but hasn't been picked up yet.

To add to comments regarding the ecoboost - I have no question about its performance but you can't beat the sweet coyote V8.  :thumb:

Picked up my wife's daily drive eco boost convertible today. It goes very well, I will never pull up beside her at the lights in my 65.

We may need to start a category for the new Mustang on this forum

Thats a good price.Half he cost of my insurance with the Cobra only worth half that value. Semi rural,Central Coast. 8 policies and been a member for 57 years with a good driving record.
might have to make a bit of noise. It comes up for renewal shortly

A little disappointed about the optional spare wheel. $195 US in America and listed as a $1157 option in Australia. Considering that Ford have done such a good job on pricing the car for Australia, it seems odd that they would increase the price of an accessory by that much. Better option might be to get a tyre plug kit and 12 volt compressor and wheel jack.

Rang and checked with my dealer to see whats happening and they are still none the wiser about deliveries. They were expecting their first delivery at the dealership around the 18th December (not mine) and still haven't got it yet. Rang Ford Australia this morning and apparently the mustang delivery team were busy, took my number and said someone would call me (still waiting).

Get a spare wheel!!!!

I had a MB C32 which was shipped with a can of foam.  It doesn't help you when a tyre gets an egg on the side and blows out on the freeway!

And your order date was Nov 2014?  I ordered the identical GT in Dec 2014 and picked it up yesterday. It looks fantastic.  Much better than photos and videos.  In person it looks lower and wider. The coyote V8 is magic.  Not long now and you will love it.  :thumb:

How much was the bribe to allow you to take a photo of their car with yours?....Looks gr8.
My dealer called me today, couldn't tell me anything I didn't already know except told me it will sit in Port Kembla 10 working days (something to do with Ford Aust) before being transported to him. It arrives in Port K on Friday.
