That's the excuse my ford dealer gave me

Excuse? Would you prefer that your dealer just blame Ford Aus or claim ignorance?

Sure is / was. Midday 24th Dec they were unloaded in Melb. Was supposed to be 23rd but it was late out of Newcastle and got stuck in Melb sea traffic I think

It always was the 24th but at one stage it was running ahead of time.

On my tracking info it says delived from??? guess yours would say this too been our cars are on the Same ship

Do u know what it means???

I was told around the 15th of jan I'd get it from the dealer. not long now...

Clancy Motors in Bathurst shot this really nice video of their 1st customer picking up a Mustang race red convertible. Looked like a 5 star reception.  :burnout:

Looking at race red mustang in video or pics gets me happy every time

Hooray :omg:, finally :omg:, living proof that a Mustang has been delivered to a real customer (not a Radio Personality). Can you believe it? It's a shame that Ford Australia haven't taken the heat of their dealers though, all it would have taken is a few emails to enlighten first up customers what is happening!  For a company that is trying to improve their customer satisfaction, they are really struggling.

Few Mustang are being delivered every now and then. I went for a quick demo/walk around a new mustang at Ford dealership a week ago and it's even better than the pictures. The last mustang I had seen was back in 2007. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I am sharing few photos, hope you folks like it.  :singing:

Customs cleared by WWL and released to Ford Aus I believe - mine is showing as Delivered from Melbourne 31/12 @ 3pm.

Now we wait for the return voyage back to Brisbane and then the trucking to dealers. The last car that was delivered to my dealer in Stanthorpe sat on the Brisbane dock for 11 days - but that was to do with consolidating the delivery with dealers nationwide for the first release.

Interestingly it appears there were only 48 vehicles on the Tarago and that was the 3rd delivery. Nice to be one of the first 200 to 300 delivered =)

All sounds very promising for the new 'stang.

I'll wait a few years then pick one up on the cheap from one of you early adopters when you get bored and want to upgrade to the new model.

Make sure you look after my potential new car!
Cheers,
Brian

Well yes it is you would like to think it may add some value later on for the real early cars first delivered in Aus. so they don't just truck them back up to us? They go back on a ship?

Yes they bring them back up to Brisbane on a ship. I'm going to see if I can find out which ship they will be on and if I get the details will let you know.

Anyone thinking these are money makers is kidding themselves.  Gotta agree with this comment...

IMHO be lucky to be selling for 60-70% of original retail in 3 years time... let alone those paying premiums to "flippers", that extra is a dead loss down the track.

On a more serous note, with all the posts about instantly tweaking the cars for "more"... I got thinking what does that do to the warranty?  As a "new" (ish) model (RHD) if there is some issue down the track with engine/transmission does the after market mod void the warranty?  or does the after market vendor assume it (not likely...)???  Curious if folks are concerned at all, or just figure they'll take a chance as I sure can't believe Ford will warranty a car with a after market turbo, intercooler, etc... long shot, but issues do crop up, even on new cars...

I like your style Glenn.

Outfits like Mustang Motorsport down here have the warranty angle covered for work they do. There are probably others that have done a deal too but no doubt others who haven't.

Caveat Emptor.

You're right mert. My dealer has already stated that unless they put the parts in, then the Ford warranty is void. After market firms like street fighter warranty their products. But what a problem the ensuing blame game should something go wrong.

And yes I am quite prepared for serious depreciation. But after 12 months of sharing the wifes mazda 3, I don't care.

Most people who are buying these cars don't care less about depreciation. I know damn well I will lose money but what a way to do it. I think it will depreciate less than my current model Colorado

They will depreciate like any new car in the long term but until supply exceeds demand they won't depreciate much, if at all. At this stage it looks like supply will lag demand for another 18 months.

Warranty on these cars is no different to any other new car ,you play with it its good by warranty unless the dealer  or a after market company fit the parts .  So I would be very careful what or how you modify your new mustang .  You don't want to throw your ford warranty away .

Second happiest day of her life and unlimited husband points for me - Michael at Clancy's has been upfront and extremely helpful

from the start 15 months ago, we drove 9 hours today to take delivery tomorrow.

Michael gave up an hour of his sunday arvo to let us get familiar with it.

Has looked after us all the way.

Cheers

J
