Interesting fact, with a few on the road maybe, I called my insurer choice of 6 years today, LSV, & they cannot give me a firm quote till Jan 4th? So who has insurance ATM & with which Co?

Sound , I don't know it was going the other way and by the time I noticed it ,it was gone but I noticed the NSW plates on the back .  If you do the mods on yours you will devalue it for resale .

I got an email from Ford on Dec 3rd saying my car has been built, and was expecting another email before Christmas saying it was on a ship - but nothing.  Rang Titan Ford yesterday, and their information says it's still at Flat Rock and delivery is now expected to me late March rather than Feb as previously promised.

sigh - the wait (for both car and information) continues...

Just tracked the ship that is carrying my Mustang. It's just arrived at the Panama Canal. Here's a screen shot showing all the ships waiting at both ends to move through the canal. Every dot represents a ship. Mine (Tamerlane) is marked with a square. ETA in Melbourne, via Auckland, Brisbane and Sydney, is 26 Jan.

Don't get excited about getting your car quickly when it arrives in the country. Mine arrived on 11th December and still no explanation from ford or any follow up emails on delivery from ford since early November when they emailed the tracking details.

I am quite pissed with ford about the whole thing. Ford have not managed expectations for delivery at all.

My dealer just says, the computer says eta to dealership 12 December, the computer says 19 December, the computer says 26 December, the computer says 2 January to the dealership. I insured the car and left a bank cheque with a mate to pick it up two weeks ago before I left for holidays.

I was getting excited. Mine arrived in Melb on 20 December.  ETA to the dealer 2 Jan (tomorrow). The delivery to the dealer hasn't been booked, so I assume it is not going to be there on Jan 2.  I agree, Ford hasn't handled the deliveries very well. I don't mind the delay if they can give you accurate information, so you can plan accordingly.  I hope you enjoyed your holiday anyway.  Happy New Year.

If I were you guy's I wouldn't get to excited as my car was on the Parsifal that arrived on the 28th of November and it still hasn't left the docks at port Kembla to be delivered to my dealer. By the way the delivery company is closed until Monday 4th of Jan so I don't know who would deliver it on Sat the 2nd. I even asked if I could have my own licenced car carrier to pick it up and they wouldn't have a bar of it

Yes I suspected the chances of it delivered to the dealership tomorrow (when I arrive back in Aus) were slim since I don't believe a word that my dealers computer tells me anymore.  I was going to get a ranger dual cab ute this year but I will get another ugly bt50 rather than deal with ford.  There has to be consequences when the consumer is not treated with respect.

A big issue is that every single one of the first 250 to 500 cars are going through very stringent QA checks. Ford are putting every single car up on a hoist and going though a check list on each, even so far as to touch up paint the black if there are any scratches on the chassis. My understanding is that there have been a few cars from the first delivery that have not be sent to dealers yet as they are getting even more tender loving care. I'm pretty stocked that the cars are getting such attention for the first round as opposed to a normal car order. When i got my Focus RS back in 2010 this care was not taken (being the end of run in Germany for the model) and as such I had some carpet missing under the accelerator pedal that just annoyed me, well till I started the car and hit said accelerator peddle.

Unfortunately even the dealers have been in the dark on a lot of things. But trust me - I've sat in one, turned it on and heard it drive off and past several times and the wait is DEF worth it for those that are hanging in... I promise lol (oh and no I don't work for Ford haha)

Oh and another thing I really like is that from the back there is no badging on the car (actually there is no Ford badging on it anywhere externally) other than the GT emblem. Expect a lot of unofficiados to ask you "what is this" when you are out and about =)

Must have been yours i saw Neil on the road the other day

Not quite - I'm picking mine up from a dealer in Stanthorpe (nice drive home back to Brisbane) but the one that was there the other day I photographed wasn't mine, it was heading up to Townsville. I believe mine is either on the dock in Melbourne waiting on a ride back to Brisbane or already on a ship - not sure. Either way am hoping to have it around 18th.

Haha, I'm about as far from a car salesman as you could get - in fact, one day I might share my story about my dealings with the guys at Bryan Byrt Ford (RIP), including the time I followed up a confrontation by taking a photo of a line up of $220,000 worth of cars I bought from an alternative dealer straight to their directors after the service manager told me "it's your word against mine kid" lol

Sure is / was. Midday 24th Dec they were unloaded in Melb. Was supposed to be 23rd but it was late out of Newcastle and got stuck in Melb sea traffic I think
