Yeah it sucks. They have to go through quarantine, fumigation and have certification plates done in Melbourne. Then they will have to wait for another boat back up again. Defies all logic :(

Just punched my VIN into the Ford website (see previous post in this thread) and received this "window sticker". I was filled with joy when I read that my '16 Stang would come with hood vents and secondary turn signals as standard. Then I read the fine print that stated that export models might not be so equipped. At least I now know that my car will hit the Melbourne docks (not literally I hope) on 24 Jan 16.

This link was supplied previously. Copy your VIN into the box titled "Cargo ID". You may get a message stating no record found. Just try again in a couple of days until your shipping details are listed.

thanks…i noticed the link last week and i have been trying each day and as yet I do not have a sail date for the vin number. I have the window sticker and I think my car was built on 30 nov.

when was you car built (i did not see that data on your window sticker)

if yours was built on the same date then maybe mine is coming around the same time.

as you may have seen in my previous posts, ford has completely stuffed my order up and had an incorrect first name and email when they took the order from  Sydney City Ford.

Some people, who have had they car built, have received emails from ford. I haven't had one email from them despite the best efforts from city ford.

its completely frustrating and thanks for your patience in replying to these simple questions….respect…dingo

Hi guys. Probably a silly question but where did everyone get their VIN number from? Only communication I got from Ford was a phone call when it started getting built and then an email when it was on the RORO.

Ok - that's weird... I hit post and my phone rang and it was Ford marketing to tell me my VIN number :|

I saw a story on the TV last night about Tom Elliot taking delivery of the first Mustang in Oz.
A very nice dark blue V8 coupe which he's very happy with.

I have been considering buying a 2015 Mustang but am turned off by the current one year wait. Three months is bad enough, I was unhappy with the six week wait I had for my first falcon XB in 1974. I guess Ford have totally lost the plot now. A company now run by accountants and assorted suits that seem to be far removed from good service.

I'll wait another year and concentrate on my 69 fastbacks.

Supply and demand... wait a few years and you'll be able to pick them up for 60% of MSRP and in almost new condition.... the frenzy will subside after the first year or two...

^^ I certainly hope this is the case, but I really don't think so ==> FORD will not be probably not be turning out more RHD units than they are now and I predict Australia will be still getting about the same small percentage of them. The wait should go down a bit, but probably still be a few months for another 2 years. I hope I'm wrong.

Mine came off the production line on 30 November at which time it was transported to Baltimore. Records indicate that it will loaded on the TAMERLANE leaving Baltimore on 23 Dec, arriving in Melbourne on 24 Jan via a few other ports of call.

Mine hit Baltimore on 13th November and boarded on 21st November - so just over a week hopefully for you while they get enough consignments for the voyage.

Thanks. Mine was suppose to be built 30 nov as well but despite having the vin number and window sticker I have been unable to track on the suggested web site. I'll try the same ship as yours

Also heard today city ford syd has not received any in the first round. Man.....this is ridiculous in us having to battle for info when ford should be better organised.    Respect.   Dingo

Glad to hear it has been built. I have sent an email to Ford Australia asking about mine as I have not heard anything from them and put in my order mid March. Hoping for a reply soon.

What was your build date?????

Via a ford call centre phone discussion in October they told me 30 nov but i think it was just this last few days.  There have been others on this chat forum saying theirs was built 39 Nic and they already know the boat and arrival Aust date so therefore mine is not in that group

The challenge I believe is that ford dealers ford and ford build plant are not synced with their data    Respect   Dingo

My sense is that the dealer is not in the loop and that ford Aust don't have a clue or control over the orders and that the plant in the USA is controlling the processing according to their build plant process. Ref right drive and colour and demand rest of world.

Then the ship process depends on numbers for sail date.  My thoughts only having watched and pushed hard for the last two years.  Respect. Dingo

Has anyone here been told that the nickel wheels are not available yet? Apparently my car is coming with black wheels and I will have to take it back to have the nickel wheels fitted when they are available
