can anyone confirm whether the new ones do or don't have front/rear parking sensors?  They're not listed on Ford Australia's specs page, but you'd think if you've got a reversing camera, you'd get parking sensors - particularly in the front.  I think I'd trade the climate controlled seats for parking sensors on a car with such a monster turning circle (but we don't get to choose such things in Australia)

Just checked the Ford specs page and it does state that parking sensors are fitted.

Thanks for asking. I'm looking good for life. I live in Australia and not some where else. Ruby red  black stripes. Black rims. Black inside. V8 auto  hard top   I had planned to drive the 10 year old Range Rover sport to Darwin and leave the pony in Sydney. I'm fortunate to have a job in Darwin and Sydney and Canberra. But now will push the plan till the new year.  Flexibility and not expecting too much these days.

What did u order. And when is it due. Respect Dingo

Dingo - We ordered in Oct 2014 and have an arrival date of 18/12.

Going on what you've said - I think there has been a stuff up either at your dealer or Ford, maybe the dealer misplaced/forgot your order and put it in later than they are telling you.

Considering when most here ordered to their delivery dates - something not right about your timing.

Do you think your dealer is being straight with you?

Cheers

I sent an email outlining the exact dates and correspondence. The head of ford marketing in Melb rang me to explain delays in production but could not explain being bumped off the list altogether.

I would have accepted that everyone was bumped to march next year

Clearly a stuff up between city ford Sydney and ford in Melb but no one is interested in fixing it. Order is in deposit paid and thousands lined up behind me to take my order if I pull out

I just have to suck it up     There are bigger things to worry about. Life is too short.   Respect.  Dingo

After seeing the first cars roll off the ship in Melbourne last week made me wonder what would happen if a car was damaged, written off or stolen before it was delivered to the dealer what would Ford do?

I remember back in the early '90s my old man was national service manager for LNC who were the importers of Subaru, Fiat, Audi, Lancia & Renault - they had imported 4 RX sedans (4wd turbo) which were the predecessors to the WRX.

Two were for Possum Bourne and the other 2 were for evaluation - the latter two were given to a major motoring magazine for a test article. The journos doing the test stopped for lunch - came back and the cars were gone.

I was in my mid 20's and had a VW that I went to a wreckers in sydney to get parts for - whilst there I noticed for sale was a set of wheels that were of an RX sedan (very distinctive). Went home and told the old man, he sent me back to ask if they had any high performance subaru engines for my (imaginary) rally car.

He showed me a turbo motor that had just come in - police were called and a major car theft ring was broken.

I'm so glad that I got to test drive my dad's company car before it went to those journo's

Cheers

you can type your vin# into this link. (Your VIN is your CARGO ID). It will give you shipping details "IF" your car is booked. It may say "no details", keep trying each day until you get results

Paid deposit in Mar 15. Ford sent an email on 1 Dec to tell me that the car was built on 30 Nov and was in transit to Baltimore. Phoned my dealer today and was given the VIN. It's not yet recorded in a shipping manifest so is probably in a holding yard being cleared by US customs.

I also put my order in in March 15 but not due to get mine until May 2016. I guess that the South Australian market is not a priority for Ford.

Hi guys,

Just joined up and waiting for my Race Red, GT manual fastback. I paid my deposit March 15 and it is currently on the MV Tarago due to dock in Auckland on Wednesday and Brisbane 20/12 then Melbourne 24/12. Not sure when it will hit my dealer though - might ring Ford tomorrow and ask them.

The interesting thing about the pre orders is that the Ford order books never officially opened until 10th March 2015 and any orders taken before then were held in vitro with the dealership as they were not able to be generated with Ford till March. I know of quite a few incidents that the dealer was a little tardy in processing the order once the books opened and as such created a delay in processing the previous orders. Also once orders were received they were evidentially vectored against the order of "expression of interest" which in turn meant that some people who gave a deposit to their local dealers fell off the radar a few steps too.

I was kind of hoping that since I bought the 6th (of 315) Focus RS that hit Aus back in 2010 I might get further up the line but alas no =( lol

Anyway, hi guys - looking forward to taking delivery of the GT in the coming weeks, although I am starting to wish i ordered the Ruby Red instead of Race Red... oh well... them's the breaks!
