Are they scared of the XR6 turbos in the track events?

I have!
Both manual and boosted drums.. I've gone discs all round now.

With manual drums it was a bit scary toward the end of the straight, gotta get on them early but not too hard..
with boosted drums it was way better, but after 1 lap the fade sets in and it gets scary again.

But on a day like this, you'll be fine since it's a "cruise" then everyone opens up the throttle for the main straight.. It's awesome fun

Its not racing ,its a cruise .Some people get up it down the straight for a bit but thats about it in the general cruise time .If you are in a club that has paid for there own track time ,some or most will go quicker around the track ,but most will give it a bit more down the straight also ,and go a bit quicker around the rest of the track .I myself in my clubs track time give it heaps down the straight for about 200m then back off for the rest of the track as my car is old ,the brakes are old as every thing in and on  the car is old including me .  I do go in the 1/8 mile drags and thats safe .You must remember you have no insurance when on the track ,so i dont want to smash my mustang into anything or  into another persons pride and joy ,and thats another reason i take it easy .  Its a great day so come .

Went round last year.  Great time    Boosted drums all round - just backed off at the kink down the main straight and took it easy in the corners.  Mrs 67 reminded me beforehand we had to drive home  :nono:

Once you roll the car onto the track you have no insurance cover whatsoever! That's the one thing you must remember!

Yes was a great day
Also broke auto someway, C6 no second
Still had a great day
That charger won the drags, he hosed me  easily
Somehow I got a second in the slalom (not bad with no 2nd gear)
What car were you in

Thanks Lee ,and vx255 and that sounds like a commodore thing ,anyway a red 66 coupe with a black roof very stock looking . I broke reverse gear band ,still had forward gears but could not risk doing any more damage as i had to drive back to the gold coast .I saw your car and you did well to come 2nd .It would be very hard to beat that cobra .
