A couple of pics of my BF Turbo 1966 Coupe project that I started mid last year.
Wrecked a low milage BF XR6 Turbo ute and kept the entire drive train and electrics.
Found a nice Six Cylinder T code coupe and started measuring.
You will find out as you go along
crikeyrob why this is not a common conversion and info is lacking.
Spent last year converting the car to RHD, and moving the firewall back as far as possible.
First problem, the Barra motor's head overhangs the block both front and rear by a couple of inches so length in the engine bay is lacking.
Second problem, sump to steering clearance. Have a 65 with an RC Motorsports Mustang ll front end similar to Heidt's, and on offering various Barra sumps up to it soon showed that wasn't going to work.
Eventually used an RSS rack and strut kit that a Forum member that hadn't used it, and was offering it cheap and it should work.
Also added the strut notch kit for turbo clearance.
Gearbox will be an worked AOD machined to fit Dellows C4 to Falcon six bell housing.
That way the tunnel doesn't have to be altered.
Diff is allready in, cut down 500hp AU XR8 LSD Disc braked with 3.75 gears.
Have just mocked up a Hydroboost for the front 330mm Brembo brakes and am at present working out how to hide all the plumbing.
Unfortunately health has slowed me down but will slowly chip away at it.
Best of Luck, you will need it.
