Thanks boss69hogg!

I built it to capture the entire project in a clear way. I could have just posted updates & pics on a thread but it wouldn't have been in a neat or easy to navigate format. I plan to also upload a lot of videos later when the final car starts to come together. Main idea is to show newbies (like I was/am) all the components of a build and give some confidence / inspiration to take on their own.

Thanks guys. I am really happy with how it's progressing now. I can see the finish line getting closer :-)

I will pass on your comments to the trimmer. He challenged certain parts of the design and took the extra time to ensure it looked consistent from front to back.

Build Website has now updated again: www.boostedford.com

* Ultima D34 Battery Holder Installed In Boot
* Rollcage complete
* New Front Radiator Support Panel

Enjoy!

Just built center console with 3mm polycarbonate.

Once I test fit it then I will need to re-enforce, add timber sides and then have it wrapped in leather.

Enjoy!

The polycarbonate mockup served its job but I needed to make changes and move the design onto a 4mm aluminium panel. I designed it up in TurboCad and AG Holding laser cut and folded it for me. They are Braeside Vic and I would recommend them.

Small square plates will be welded to the underside of the console at a certain offset to the edge. These will then be tapped and allow me to bolt on the sides easily. Sides will be mdf covered in leather with countersunk stainless hex head bolts. Same design as my door cards linked here. http://www.boostedford.com/#!interior---door-cards/c1v0

I will provide an update as things progress further.

Looks very clean and tidy  :thumb:

Did you get the tank made or was that an off the shelf? I can't recall it from the rest of your thread.

:agree: ... Not jealous at all of that motor!! :leaving:
I almost thought of putting a current model Falcon XR6 motor into my car while I'm still on Ps, for a couple of reasons, but I think I might get in trouble for having it in there as it would mean the car has been modified to increase the power of the factory engine.. And that was before I even considered the extra modifications just to fit it in there!

... Has anybody ever heard of a current model Mustang V6 being fitted to an old body?
Just as something different I think it would be interesting to see...

Center console is now wrapped in leather. Allowances were made in the designs for the leather so that everything fits nice and snug. All grommet holes cut in the firewall and the car is leaving tomorrow for panel and paint.

All major modifications are complete and the car has been moved to the panel beaters. Auto Passion will look after this for me but can't start it for a few months. It will be about 4 months until we start seeing progress but I'll post up the pics.

Wow! I've been thinking about this exact idea for a while now and decided to google about it yesterday!
Can't believe I stumbled across this build, your Mustang is going to be amazing Rob!

I can't seem to get your website working on my iPad. Have Auto Passion started painting yet?

It's amazing to read about this build now as its nearly completed, especially as it's been a couple of years in the making.

Can't wait to see the outcome, looking forward to more updates :D
