Good advice, Shaun, thanks :thumb:
It appears as though the previous owner initially painted the inside of the doors the same color as the body and the dashboard, but then decided against it later on and painted over the blue with satin black so there is a pretty thick coating of paint and primer on there at the moment.

I have taken it back just above the primer they used before the blue and I will track down some thinners to get most of it off so I keep the grain.

Thinners will only work on acrylic paint not 2 pack, scotch brite and or the stainless scouror things from Woolies work but takes time to get it all out of the grain.

About 8 hours of prep-work on the door and dashboard today, and I even got to spray some paint and primer!
The dash is now masked off and I only have a few little spots I want to take back a bit further, so far I am happy with the result, it should look like new when it's done.

.... After having squeezed myself under the dash a few times with the front seats still in, I have also decided that should I have to get under the dashboard again I will take 5 minutes to take the front seats out to make life MUCH easier!

Tomorrow morning I hope to get the last of the prep-work done and a coat of primer sprayed onto the dashboard before lunchtime.

Had the Dakota Digital cluster installed. Black face with white lettering and needles look great and still retain an "old school" look. Picture to follow.

Last week I finished painting the dashboard and I put it all back together over the weekend..
I am very happy with the result, I think it looks much better in black than in blue!
Today I gave it a bath and went for a drive, the odometer just ticked over to 63k miles, which means I've driven just over 4000 miles since I got my Club permit in Sept. 2013..

All shiny, ready for cruising!

Not bad. I relocated the solenoid to the shock tower and mounted the bottle on the apron between the battery and shock tower. I had to buy some longer tubing and some P brackets to make it a nice tidy installation. I ran the tube around the upper edge of the engine bay, just below the guard, and then under thu lip of the rad support panel.Clear as mud!
cheers, Ron B

Worked on my 70 today ,after going for a long run last weekend it started to play up and ran out of HP when I opened the secondaries . Well I check the timing ,new points and condenser check the plugs etc and rebuilt the Holley . Put it all back together ,was the same  :thud:   Then I put a new set of plugs in  Bango all bloody fixed ,was the bloody plugs all the time  :thud: .  And before all that the battery shit it self so I thought it was it ,lack of power at hight revs ,nope ,that didn't fix it either ,but I have a new battery now .   :thumb:  cheap day NO .

Had the rear springs reset and an extra leaf added. Ride height is pretty much where I want it, but should drop slightly once it settles.

Also replaced bushes on front sway bar.

Phenomenal difference in handling.

Vacuumed interior, bathed it , chamoi-ed it, checked all fluids and tyres, cleaned windows in & out, cruised thru town with Freddie Mercury on and windows down, then back home to it's own 3 bay garage. All tucked in and sound asleep now.  :thumb: :flag:
