A late entry but last weekend we displayed the Mustang in a display of Classic, Veteran and Vintage cars in Rockhampton Heritage Railway Yards. It was a lot of fun but I couldn't make them understand why they should pay for photographs. We learn a lot at these events, it is good to get the wisdom of a constructive eye from other members who have so many years of experience with these classic cars. Today My Stang is in the pen until I finish at the office. :toetapping:

Its been a couple of hundred miles since I installed the TEFBA radiator filter, so changed out the coarse filter and put in the finer filter.  :smile01:

Made a RHS lift-hook for the engine - out of bare steel! Must say it turned out pretty good, but a repro was only $26 - I probably should have bought one...

Took the Mustang out in the cold with a bunch of other muscle/classics to the Qld Auto Museum outside Toowoomba.   Started off 3 degrees this morning but warmed up to 13 but windy.  I must be getting old 'cause a convertible would be nice but I was glad to have a hardtop today.  Roy and Kerry own and run the museum and talk about a passionate car guy! He gave us a tour and didn't stop talking for a couple of hours.  Cars from FX to WB Holden, and XA to EA Ford, Valiants, Toranas, plus Euro (Jag, Mercedes, Vauxhall, VW, Rover), a couple of American, vintage and heaps of memorabilia. Too much to photograph but two of the more "interesting" cars are a pair of Peter Brock EA Falcons (after Holden dumped Brockie he turned his hand to Ford for a while ) and  Peter Brock Lada .  Well done I say for preserving a lot of cars unmolested, and all out of his own pocket.  http://www.queenslandautomuseum.com.au/

They're in the workshop lined up with about 20 other cars in various states of repair/disrepair yet to get prettied up and moved to the main display building (eg - has a HK GTS with all body panels off, interior out and motor/box out being rebuilt).  The Val is supposed to be the first convertible - I don't know much about them but she needs a bit of work.  He's old school as a mechanic as well - does his own work where he can (hoists, lathe, boring machine), and old old school - the workshop has a couple of girlie calendars over the bench .

Finished sanding our back deck, put the first coat of natural stain and painted the sides.

In other words, I scored brownie points for my next Mustang related purchase

Replaced broken window rollers on quarter windows and installed a new hand brake spring... now I can park on hills!
Why would you want to drive anything but a 60's muscle car?

I hosed off the windscreen before driving to work.  I wasn't blinded by the early sun this morning, so it worked.  I really need to wash the thing.

Pulled out a 5.4 quad cam motor from an XR8 as a donor motor to drop into the 67 fastback. It's already fitted with stainless long tube 4 into 1's and tuned to suit. Should go well. Hang on..... this is all for my mates Mustang. Damn it, my poor Mustang is still untouched. Why am I working on other Mustangs and not mine?  :tissue:

Went with a bunch of cars to the Warwick Jumpers & Jazz festival - car show in the main street of Warwick (Qld).  Started off early only an hour trip from home but outside temp was 1 degree :omg:.  Nice in the Mustang but looked chilly in the hot rods that came along .
Big rollup for a country town - a few Mustangs, MG club, Monaro club, minis, plenty of hot rods, other makes etc and some cars I couldn't identify.  It's a week long festival that injects a lot of money into local businesses.
Hopefully the photobucket link works.
