Replaced a rear brake line.
Always had the feeling the rear brake balance side to side wasn't correct.
Had a look around and this is what I found. (tube cut for photo to show restriction)
Somebody had chained the old girl down around the diff.
More than half restricted.
Feels much better now.
Peter.

Replaced leaf spring bushes. Eye bushes were a prick to remove and install the new ones.

Found a genuine radio for my 66 at a swap meet. Has cleaned up nicely but yet to test it. Came with new Scott Drake knobs. Only difficulty is both the Scott Drake knobs have a small shaft coming out of them but only the tuning side has a slot for the shaft. The on/off side switch has a shaft coming out of it as well so the Scott Drake knob won't fit on. They are correct knobs for a 64-66 Mustang Radio and the radio is correct. Anyone else had this issue?

I dropped my car off at Steve at St Marys to get some chips and minor dents fixed, as well as align my passenger window which doesn't shut correctly. Steve said he would send me some progress pictures during the week, so I'll keep you updated on how its looking and the quality of the finish.

Due to other commitments, the '68 coupe is sitting in the garage for longer periods without being driven, so bought one of these today to keep the battery in good shape.  :smile01:

took her out for a spin to Pedders to talk about springs, then drove her home the long way and enjoyed the sunshine.
got home, gave her a wash, dried her up, then waxed her with some Turtle Wax Ice.

she's all shiny, silky smooth and ready so I take the missus out tonight.

Seems I've become really anal with keeping it clean. I spend more hours waxing than driving. Hopefully I'll hit a tipping point soon and it will become the other way around

And put on the custom plates to see what she looked like, if rego wasn't so expensive they could stay on.

Put a new air filter on my 66 ,then dropped the nut of the lid into the carby  ,could not get it out ,so had to take the carby off so careful so it would not drop into the intake then into engine . GOT THE SUCKER .

Oh Glenn, pissing myself laughing. Memories of something very similar.

Years ago we were building a L20b for the rally car. Can you imagine three guys rebuilding the block & head only to drop a bolt down the front listening to it tinkling down into the middle of the engine. Then to see the three of us pick it up and shaking it, turning it upside down etc. Ended up having to dismantle it. So at 2am we had managed to rebuild, dismantle and rebuild it again. Then it wouldn't start because of the compression. Easy, tow it behind another car and dump the clutch. Was a top engine though.

Went for a drive ( yesterday afternoon ) came back on the back of a flat deck

All was going well then after 1 hour the car just cutout and rolled to a stop  :thud:

So today will be spent fixing the issue once I find what the problem is, car was running perfectly so thinking it will be fuel or electrics .

Yes that happens when you dont put fuel in . Check to see if its got fuel 1st and carby is not flooding ,then check spark .Fuel in you tank is cheaper than a tow truck ride home .

So your saying in years to come it will be cheaper to get a truck to pick us up at home and take the car for a cruise than actually drive it

Did some work on one of the Cleveland blocks with dad. Tapped it out and installed Boss 302 / 429  screw in welsh plugs. Can't trust the push in brass ones. Can't wait to drop it between the towers but much more to do before that happens

Picked up my mustang from the diff doctor after a full rebuild and straightening session.  Apparently, both tubes were bent and a few other issues.  All from a previous owner.  All good now :burnout:
