Just drove to Vic; stopped in at Wodonga and had the car registered in Victoria. Pissed down all the way to Sunshine (there's something ironic about that). Left the car at Western Smash Repairs ( recommended on this forum) for a full respray and engine rebuild. Am now in the QANTAS Club waiting to fly back to Canberra then back down here to live on Thursday. Sad to leave the Mustang but in six months, I'll have a new car.    :pepper:

I said something like that over 2 1/2 years ago, just got my car back from its' alignment, and looking for a wheelbarrow to use so I can cart the fee for Rego to the Motor Transport.

I hope your 6 months only takes 6 months, good luck on that one. If there was any possible chance of something delaying my restore it found a way of working its way into my plans.

Finally took mine for a decent drive,
The EFI is fantastic.
The 4 speed auto even better.
Couldn't be happier with the outcome.
Would appear to be a dramatic decrease in fuel consumption as a bonus.

Peter,

Well done. I am two weeks away from finishing my project. I will have the atomic efi on a 347 with a 4r70w trans. I hope to have a similar outcome :thumb:

GOOD LUCK MATE!

Thanks!
Unfortunately it failed, they sure seemed impressed at how good everything was though..
The only two things they could pick on were the VIN (not readable after I resprayed the engine bay) - A simple fix, scratch the paint to reveal the primer inside the stampings. (Which I did as soon as I got home)
And the other thing was that there is just a little too much movement in one of the lower ball joints, I picked up the car today, but I will get them to fix it Thursday morning once the part comes in and then they can issue the certificate on the spot..

All that's really left now is to get a club inspection booked and it's off to VicRoads to get some license plates! :pepper:

I've got my compliance plate. Will see you at car show sooner or later. She's come a long way from the rusted out T code that came in from the States, Marvelous what a 289, Gt Bonnet and some Cragars' can do, not to mention good old fashioned steel to replace some wood, a toilet roll, rags, sticks and foam.

Dropped the car off at the mechanics to have a new lower control arm put in so they can give it a roadworthy certificate, got the mail to find my plastic MOCA membership card..
Now I'm just waiting for the phone call so I can go and pick it up from the mechanics!

And then tomorrow morning I should be good to get some licence plates from VicRoads! :pepper: :pepper: :pepper:

Nice looking car mate, you've done a good job. :thumb:
Steel is definitely better than wood, toilet rolls and sticks!

I keep looking at my upturned bonnet and the angle grinder complete with cut off wheel. Will I get this one right, have the 66 hood scoop and no hole to match. This is very scary.Watched Chip Foose do it,looks like a piece of!Hood scoops already riveted and bonded to the bonnet. Will have to get up the courage and have a go
