The product is from Parker I will get some details and post,
It is nothing like extractor wrap.
It is used in the Fire Service industry to protect Fire truck fuel and brake hoses.
In is in tube form from 15mm id to 130mm id. ( I still have to fit stainless steel cable ties, run out at the time )

Transmission is a BTR electronic 4 speed.
Peter.

Hey Peter.  It would be interesting to get some specs on it, like how much heat it can tolerate.  Might be something for the common problem of power steering hoses running close to extractors. :flaming:

Hello,
It is rated at 260 degrees in direct contact and up to 1100 degrees at intermittent exposure.
So if it was a couple of inches clear of extractors it would survive.
We have tested fire appliances at 1000 degrees radiant heat load with no problems.
Its not cheap though!
Will post some more details later.
Peter.

Here's a couple of more photos of the tubing.
The AS number refers to an aviation heat protection rating for electrical and hydraulic loom and hose protection.
I will track down the supplier and advise when I return to the office.

Ripped the heater box, core and fan out today..
Figured I could get at least half the job of fixing the heater done before my classes tonight..
It only took a few hours, I will replace the fan and put it all back together on Thursday morning.
Should have a working heater/de-mister by the weekend, so I will be able to get a roadworthy inspection booked for early next week and hopefully have the car inspected by the club so I can get it rego'ed in a week or two! :pepper:

Before.

.... After.

Amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do!

I also found that my floorpans are even more solid than I thought, with only a little surface rust in the corner!

I dropped the cragars off to the mechaninc this morning, I can't wait to see them fitted. Today the mechanic will do the video of everything working for the inspector to issue the compliance plate, then the car shall be ready for the rego. In case you cant guess I am a little bit excited right about now. It has only taken me 2 years 7 months and 13 days (hours are confusing because of the time lag between Australia and the States)  so far.  :evilone:

After 6 months of not doing anything to the car( bit burnt out) got on line and order heaps of goodies, went out and bought some new leaf springs and took the cover off to access what to do next. New motivation has arrived, and should get a good run at the resto the next few months.

Nice looking car, Mustangpaul! :thumb:

I'll be taking mine to get a roadworthy inspection done Tuesday morning, hopefully I can get it rego'ed later next week.. I've been through the list a dozen times and I can't think of or see anything they could pick up on that would make it unroadworthy.
I even gave it a polish and vacuum yesterday to be sure!

The dog in the photo wants to pee on my front wheel, if the yard did not belong to a friend of mine I'd probably rig an electric shock to that wheel so when he does pee on it the shock would go up his stream and zap his little doodle. Why do dogs have to pee on wheels? At least if a dog is going to claim territory, peeing on a Mustang shows good taste I suppose.
