Had a bit more time tonight set timing and tuned the old girl.
Balances a 50 cent coin when running so all is good.

Got it out of the garage and gave it a polish..

Nice and shiny now!
Such a shame I can't drive it, but the heater doesn't work... (It's unroadworthy and unregistered) :ouch:

Yup! Just got to fix the heater and I'll take it for a roadworthy..
Who needs a heater when it's a comfortable 24 degrees and the sun is shining though? :bolt:

I'm at a loss, here. Why does the heater have to work for a roadworthiness cert? When I bought mine from Vic, the heater didn't work, in fact it wasn't connected.
Good luck getting it regoed, JT and I like the scoop. V cool.
cheers, Ron B

Thanks Ron,
It came out better than even I thought it would with the scoop and pins..
Gives a great view out of the driver seat and looks mean coming down the road. Plus the motor gets a bit more cool air too! :pepper:

The heater has to work to be able to defrost the windshield on cold days..
To be honest, I think it's a bit silly that I need a heater / defroster, considering it's an old car.. :bolt:
It sleeps in the garage where it's safe and dry, so the windshield can't get iced up and if it were raining, it wouldn't be going out at all!.... But it's a roadworthy requirement, so I've got to fix it.. :ouch:

Hey JT, the car looks great. Love the colour.   :thumb:
:agree: The guys did a great job with it.
It looks awesome with the clear coat and it's so smooth, no dirt or orange peel, so the micro-fibre cloths just glide over it!

Got let out of the doghouse over the weekend, and so I managed to change out the old headlight switch for a new one and clean up some more wiring under the dash.  Was good to have a win for once :)

New Carby kit and points fitted plus changed back to newer coil. Older coil had started leaking oil and old points were *$#@ed.
Timing adjusted and only need a bimetallic choke spring to bring it up to as new spec. Seems to be running well but had been murder on the gas, for a few weeks.

Took her for a cruise to Cowra and back to check the new seats (BA ute).

A lot more comfortable and easier on the back  :pepper: but the lap/sash belts are too short, will have to look at getting longer for the wife. She has to have the seat right back for it to fit. Also needs a longer drop, belt rubs on her neck. Not happy Jan.

Also on the down side, I found the AC needs re-gassing (again). Hope they can find and fix the leak, this will be their third go.

Ordered for my 69CJ, Scat H-beam rods with ARP 2000 bolts. Also have ARP head and main stud kits coming too.

With the order I have replacement valve stem seals and a rocker cover gasket for my 66.

`Also on the down side, I found the AC needs re-gassing (again). Hope they can find and fix the leak, this will be their third go. `

There is a additive available for the refrigerant gas circuit used for leak detection. I once drove an early Fairmont with the same issue ,the leaks were numerous to say the least (sort of like CSI,using a blacklight)  :thumb:

With the seat belt drop to keep the wife happy, I purchased a set of of sheepskin seat belt covers that wrap around and close with Velcro,
Cheers

I washed her with a rag and fresh water, just in time to get a phone call to hurry back to my office with a client waiting. I am waiting for the auto electrician to visit and then I'll be able to put the rest together and pay for my rego. the car was outside the work shop so I pushed it back inside on my own, not an easy job as it was a slight up hill climb, 2 inches at a time, constantly kicking the chocks under the wheels so it couldn't roll back again. Transported the car to the exhaust shop today. The rear end is busy, but was told it would not be an issue. Friday pickup :pepper:

Sometimes I have noticed a leak can disappear with use after a gasket has been installed, where is it leaking from?

Tightened the wheel cap centre that was hanging on loosely by only one thread.

Leaking from the front of the bell housing. At least my mechanic is good. He's coming to me next to look at it - might be a rear main.
