PICKED HER UP FROM THE PAINT SHOP!!  :pepper: :pepper: :pepper:
Didn't get too many shots of it today as the weather went pretty sour once I got her back..

These are my favorites of the few I took today... They show the true richness of the color.

I will have to give the battery a coat of black paint so it doesn't stand out so much behind the grille, but I am very pleased with how the paint came up.. Needless to say, as the painters had been staying back late to get it done the last few weeks, they got a slab of Crownies for their hard work!
But as I was driving home, I noticed something rather unusual...
The cars in front of me seemed to want to get out of the way and the ones behind stayed a lot further back than usual...
I dunno, it MUST be the P plates?

Mocked up the tranny cooler, until the ally rad and BF fan go in. Started on a Global West inspired tubular export brace.  :evilone: Then pulled out all the new goodies for the 302 for a photo shoot.

Fitted the MAF sensor and plumbing.
Fitted the radiator and trans cooler.
Fitted a million other things.
Now have to shroud and duct the intake pod filter to outside air.

did something i said id never do, fit a kiddy seat in the back.
we took our 2yo grandson on our usual sunday coastal drive, he dug every bit of it with the windows down. (and its a wonder i didnt see you on that road birdman!)

(Every 10 degrees of under bonnet temp air costs you 2 horsepower) Peter.

just brought it back home in the cold air of night, since fitting the bonnet scoop the car goes like an alleycat with its ass on fire!
i popped the bonnet when i pulled up home and even the carb is ridiculously cold to touch let alone the air cleaner, makes for a nice dense mixture hitting the cylinders. had to stop myself otherwise i wouldve ended up with a ticket.
if only it went like that on a hot summers day...

when a 3 month engine rebuild turns into 3 year bare metal resto.
you get that .....

Fit a rubber matt behind baby seat so it won't leave an imprint on the seat. Got there at 0900 left at midday. Great day out.

Cut an old fuel tank in half for a "birds eye view"
Then made the EFI pump pick up assy.
Have an Autometer dash set up so will be able to calibrate the fuel sender as well.
The old sender supply will become the fuel return.
Peter.

Peter.

If you cut a tank in half horizontally and weld a strip between the two halves you get more range for your v 8 to drink with.  WARNING to readers, this is not a trick for an amateur, the tank needs to be de fumed and even an empty fuel tank can explode. An empty tank is usually more dangerous than a full one.

Fitted passengers seat from a BA Falcon ute as the drivers seat. Much more comfortable than the old seat.

Now to get a drivers seat for the passenger side.

Out of curiosity, was it a straight swap ?
Any mods ?

Chopmgw,

Just had to make a frame to mount the original tracks on. Bolt spacing as far as width went is the same as the mustang but length is longer on the BA seats.

I made the frame using 38mm x 3mm flatbar (overkill?) and used existing holes where possible. Had to run a piece across the seat for the rear of the runners and used machine bolts and nyloc nuts to secure it. No welding required.  :pepper:

All steel was cut by hand and the total job took about 3 hours, including seat removal and fitting. I will get the steel ready cut for the passengers seat to make it easier next time.

I am also looking at trying to use the BA seat runners as they seem to have more adjustment and may make life easier with the swap, think minor mods will allow them to fit.

here you go ron old school venetian i bought 2 years ago. brilliant quality ill dig up where i got it from here.
loved it but couldnt see a thing thru back window during the day for reflection off the louvres onto rear window. a pain when trying to reverse so i sprayed it satin black. they appreciably cut heat in cabin also during summer. (and i sure miss the smooth ride those whitewalls gave too)
