I'm very fortunate having a mechanical background (aircraft mechanic), & 36 yo son is motor mechanic, 31 yo son is a vehicle refinisher, hence the paint work, not concourse but I try to do it right

Lucky you, I have a brother who is a panlel beater and another brother who is a spray painter, they just leave me here in my office as an accountant to figure it out for myself.

If we could just get them all together at once  :evilone:

Re-attached the ID plate to the door.I was worried I would need some sort of special tool for the rivets but they tapped in perfectly with the flat end of a drill bit.
Then gave it a cut and polish, which I don't think it's ever had.

Today I found out the person doing my exhaust ( who had previously told me he had finished the headers and was going to do the tail pipes earlier in this week) didn't really finish my headers at all, I was only hearing things, apparently when he told me he had done so. He has only tack welded the headers and has had to go away to do a job elsewhere. He did not return my calls for the past two days after telling me the car would be finished because he doesn't do phone calls where he went to. My mechanic who was going to obtain the approval from the engineer and register my car before he went away again will not have time now so I'll just wait another month before I get my car on the road.

WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED:ouch:

TimR67 came around and proceeded to help me get IGALOP running again. It seems the points are *%#@ed and had partially welded together. Got it running again and reset timing to spec. I will fit new points that I subsequently bought in next day or 2. Also reckon  my Autolite 2100 carby needs a rebuild but not sure where to get it done from here in Sale/Longford.

The exhaust guy who said today, he had only tack welded the reshaped headers never even tack welded them. I found that out when my tow truck driver delivered it elsewhere to get it done for me. I have been told to go around to the new exhaust place when I can to look at a mark on my hood and the side of the car, as delivered to them. Another two weeks of wasted time. We certainly learn patience when we get into Mustang restoration.  :thud:

Took IGALOP in to town (Sale) and gave it a bath and chamois. It is going way better now after Tim tuned and timed it, and I haven't even fitted the new points yet. Must give it a full lube and oil change next.   Thanks Tim!  :thumb:

Dropped the block down to the engine shop for a hot tank, deck, hone & new cam bearings, and the crank for a polish.
And my Flow Master American Thunder ,2.5" stainless mandrel bent Dual exhaust arrived from Summit racing, took 5 days to get here from the US, nice bit of kit, good price even including freight. RHD Ceramic coated 4 into 1  Hedman headers showed up as well.

Spent some time researching where to find the connection wires that connect to the console so that the rear courtesy light can work. Eventually found the correct female connectors that sit up over the accelerator pedal area and did a test wiring which was a little more difficult because of the aircon unit in the way. It worked. So now I just need to buy some black electrical wire and some connectors and I can wire it up properly.
