Lunch @ Freestones Roadhaven Sunday 17th March
« on: February 13, 2013, 02:38:21 pm »
Looking at putting a cruise  and lunch  together going to Freestones Roadhaven 60's Diner  at Aireys Inlet on the Great Ocean road
What dates work for people  16th of March or 23rd of March   ????? some feed back would be great

Freestones Roadhaven  is a 60's cafe/diner/ car museum  opened in December last year

Not sure Peter. Don't know how long IGALOP will be, before repairs are finished and we are having a reunion of some great old mates on the island during March. I'll let you know! Would love to see that place, looks impressive enough.  :thumb:

Hey Pete.

As we discussed , my car *should* be back on the road. 16th is OK for me, 23rd is not so good.

Cheers,
Frank.

I haven't been down but they did an article in Unique Cars over Christmas on the  dinner and said it was fantastic.

ok so 4 cars so far  and looking more like the 16th of March i spoke with them today and they are more than happy to have us there and they can cater for up to 60 in there diner
They tell me if its a good day they can end up with a mini car show out front along with checking out their cars inside , there are a few videos online about the diner if you have a search

Hi Pete, saturday's are too hard for Kerry & I......( school sports day ), otherwise a yes from us on a Sunday.
Met some new members at the Rock on Sunday and were telling me about a cafe with back warehouse with about 20 classic cars in it somewhere down Torquay way......do you or anyone else know about this.
Must chat to them at next club meeting and get more details cause it sounded great.
So too is the 1yr old Shepparton Car Museum, great cars in it, with a cafe, nursery, cheese factory and pottery all next to each other so plenty for all to see. Has plenty of room & parking for a club run.

I don't mind the 17th ... The GP telecast on channel 10 was a joke lat year, so if it's on 10 again, I wont bother watching. The 16th means I have to miss sports semi-finals too ... doable , but of course would like to be there to watch my son's team make to the grand final.

Cheers,
Frank.

Looks like the Sunday could be the go Pete. I am good both days . If you set a day I should be able to get 4 -6 cars.
Once set book it and don't change it . Its usually the case when I organise a run someone will miss out because they cant make it.

On another note the all Ford Day is on this Sunday in Geelong  . Any one going?

Thanks Maca,

One of the guys in the Unique Cars T Shirt is Phil the go to guy and project manager for Unique Cars.

He does have a GT350 Shelby and a Corvette. He has been know to joke around in the past.

I wonder if his wife knows that he holds hands with other blokes in public?
Not that there is anything wrong with that for any gay forum readers that may be reading this.

The fact that he has a Chev and a Ford in the same garage may mean he does  have some weird under lying. tendencies.

Yes, I've met Phil...he brings in some great stuff and dabbles in almost anything..   it seems..

They picked a very funny time to do it...  "like minded people", i think was the comment.
