have you viewed the car? or driven it??

I'd be looking at the history of the conversion and if it had an engineering report.
Strange that they left the aerial in the RH Guard when they did the conversion.
Also, shiny paint can hide a lot of future $$$.  Have you had the bodywork checked out??

If it's roadworthy-able and isn't full of bog then it's an OK price IMO.

Just wondering what they mean by shrinkage in the front guards?

Some RHD conversions had the wipers changed.
Do your homework on buying interstate and registering in NSW with the RHD conversion.
Just because it is registered in another state does not automatically mean it can be registered in NSW.  It may or may not require an engineer's certificate.

welcome to the forum. It looks good from the pics but it is important to check it out or have it checked out. Pics can make a car look great but the devil is in the detail.

Have you called the guy up? See if he can send you some more pictures - especially from underneath the car - ask him plenty of questions. As previously mentioned - a new shiny paint job can hide plenty. I bought my 68 coupe from Victoria - 12 hour drive from Sydney to check it out. It wasn't the first car I went to see, had a few long drives that ended up with nothing. Always good to get a second opinion, but you got to have a look yourself. Good luck with your search.  :thumb:

Bidding seems unusual.

2 bidders, one with 1 bid the other with 5 bids but has had 13 bid retractions in the last 6 months.

Looks like a nice car.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the Duct Tape.

Shrinkage in my experience means that the body filler has shrunk/sunk under the paint and you end up with hollows or dips.

I would be looking at that one in person for sure . Paint shrinkage happens hard to stop ,but whats under the paint . RHD is ok but find out who did the conversion and when and ask around if they have a good name and all paperwork is in order . It has a 66 grill ,side grills have been taken off and side badges also except one whats that story .... At that price its about right if it is a good car ,a rhd conversion is around 13k plus ,lhd would be worth around 23k . The yellow looks good with the polished centerline autodrag wheels . Check under the car for damage or rust repairs ,ask when did it get imported and who imported it and from where ,make sure it has the original import approval on hand .

looks like a good car if you get it for that money ($26k) even if it does need a little touch up.

There are a couple of nice 64.5-66 coupes advertised in the Victorian MOCA cars for sale section, known cars and one looks the goods and is 4 Grand cheaper than the evilbay one. Follow the advice you are getting as these guys know what they are talking about and gain nothing by telling you garbage.
Cheers, Ron B

From what I can see it wasn't wantastang as the bid times don't line up with when he said he had made his and to his first post.

Sounds a bit suss to me, as if it was planned. The seller shouldn't be getting worried until a few days after the end of auction if they haven't been contacted. I know it isn't polite to wait that long if you are a buyer, but that's just what a lot of people do. Getting nervous 5 minutes after the end, sounds like a bit of BS.

Give yourself a week and you wont even notice. Before long you'll soon be going to the left side on your RHD cars and saying, "damn RHD cars!" At least that's what I do now

Does look good. And familiar for some reason too?
