Hi Everyone
Lock in Sunday 24 February 2013 for the Canberra Centenary Mustang Show. Hopefully we can crack 100 cars next year (after one non paying exotic left us hanging on 99 in 2011).

Do you need to be in a club for this. And is there a local club here in canberra?

The southern chapter of the NSW Mustang Owners Club is made up of quite a few ACT mustang owners - worth checking out;  Runs are the last Sunday of the month.

Can go along to the show meeting - good way to meet other local mustang owners.  The more help, the better!

Is there a prize for the "most original, unstarted, trailered project"?

If so (and if some can loan me a car trailer), I'll be there :smile02:

Cheers,
Glenn

Venue for the show now confirmed as the West Lawns, old Parliament House.
Hope to see you there!

Glenn, due to the 'unkind' observations about the 'original' paint on the red car, we are not having a best project this year.  However, some pretty nice trophies, a goodies bag with some nice 'goodies' and a very special 'Best Mustang of the Show' award.

the day before we normally do a cruise for the travelers.

See you here  :burnout:

Tell him to postpone the wedding, or even better, come to Canberra to get hitched. The bridal party can be delivered in a . . . . wait for it  . . . . convoy of Mustangs   :thumb:

Be there by 10:00AM but preferably a little earlier so that the registration and parking can be attended to.

Still locked on for this event - car is tuned up and running as plan, friends have been warned I am coming to town!

Looking forward to putting the s-code in it's maiden show - and in my uni town!!

What's the plans for the new south welshman's drive down from Sydney? Is it a leisurely drive with arm out window? I was thinking of heading down the old hume highway as the freeway is pretty boring in my old thing, especially when you are doing a fair bit under the limit and getz's are screaming past  :therethere:

I am about to send in my membership form for MOC NSW so I am on the correspondence!!

Hi Everyone
We are bedding down the plan for Saturday, but looks to be meet you guys at the Wheatley VC Rest area (read toilet stop) halfway along Lake George and then head into town for a drive to sites unseen (no, not Fyshwick).
I am sure Warwick will have more details.

Goodie bags will be the best you have ever received outside of the 'Bertie Beetle' show bag from the Royal Eastger Show of years gone by!
Turn up and check then out if you doubt us.
Cheers

I am pretty sure registrations will start about 8.30am, AusJacko can confirm the times though, Ian?  First in best dressed for the goodie bags.

Yep, 8.30am should be fine if not a little earlier.
Goodie bags may require a trailer, just letting you know.
Saturday night dinner is at the Italo Australian Club, one block across the road from the motel.
Signs going up around Canberra tomorrow to advertise the event and the Canberra Times ran an article in the Drive section on Saturday.

Having just moved to Sydney I have 2 questions,
Where is Uncle Leo's?
What is the preferred motel in Canberra?

Thanks
Alan

Hi Tripod,

Uncle Leo's is the Caltex Garage near the entrance to the Hume Highway at the CrossRoads near Liverpool.

From Liverpool turn south onto the Hume Highway and it will be on your left.

It's near where the M5 from the airport ends and the M7 ends.  You have to exit from both up towards Liverpool to get to it.

We look forward to catching up with all the Sydneysiders.

Cheers,
Warwick
