I don't know, but I think they havn't allowed for the standard 10% - 5% slip from a torque convertor, so add that to your RPM.

I know my car, 3.5 gears, 265/50-15 with C4 and 5% slip does 3000rpm at 100kph.

yes I agree it does seem to be out by about 200rpm not a bad guide though

A good convertor, is about 5%, a stocky about 10%, a cheap hi stall can be heaps more.

I didn't realise you made it, a lot of work involved!

would it be easier just to add the slip to the end and display an expected range of rpm?

e.g. maths works out rpm=3000, add slipage at a min of rpm x 1.05, max rpm x 1.1?

display = rpm range 3150-3300
