General question

Hi guys, I just been trying to do some research and I heard a few things but not sure how much truth there is to them, so I thought id ask here.

I heard that the mustang chassis are identical to the falcons?
If so is this across the board for every model? For example would a 97 mustang still have the same chassis as a 97 ford?

I also heard that the falcon chassis is pretty much the same today as its been for the last 50 years or so?

Is there much truth to this or am i getting leg pulled?

They were the same until 1966, after that they differed.

The 69 Australian Falcon was simlar to the Torino/Fairlane in the US (front rail set up only), also the 71-73 Mustang had that rail setup. Thats where it ends.

Other than some suspension components, not much was interchangeable.

Joltz,  Your mate is partly right, they are built the same way now as what they always have done.  They start at one end, put the bits on and they finish at the other end.  Thats about it when it comes to being the same (apart from the badge that is).

All other car companies copy that process now.  (are they also Ford copies?)
