Canteens Bandanna Day at Bunnings
« on: September 04, 2009, 07:54:30 pm »
Saturday 31st October.
Canteens Bandanna Day at Bunnings.
With the help of Andy Mc Phail. Bunnings have offered Canteen the opportunity to host the sausage sizzle and Bandanna sale at three outlets on the Southside.
Those stores being Underwood, Compton Rd and Browns Plains.

What we are after now are:
Cars for display.
Members to help on the day.

Hanna [Canteens Rec Officer] and I have been to Underwood and Compton Rd and have sorted the best place for our cars to be displayed and hopefully draw the throngs to the bbq and bandanna display.
As this is the major fundraiser that Canteen do each year it would be great to give their kitty a big boost and help fund some progams for future events.
It takes the sale of 2,660 Bandanna.s to pay for a weekend camp. With the current economic climate those costs increase weekly and fundraising becomes harder.
As you know events like this can only help to raise the bar and show our club to be up there in communitty events.
All help on the day would be greatly appreciated, even if only for a few hours. The smiles on the Canteen members faces make it well worth the investment of time.
Kick off is 7am and the final whistle blows at 4pm.

Thanks to those who have offerred their help so far, but the more help we can have spreads the work around .
Any queries call JD   0411 115 867.
Ps: Bluecards are not required.

That's an excellent fund raiser to be involved with, have been on there books for a couple years now & still can't seem to do enough for them.

I hope you end up with plenty of Ponies on the day.

Cheers, Caretaker65 :(

Igallop and Caretaker.
Thanks guy's for the positive feedback. This is an issue that I feel strongly about and persue with a passion.
The idea of doing charitable events can only be of benefit to anyone.
And again the smiles are well worth the time.

Aaron come along mate this is about helping Canteen.
I will be at Kuraby and any help at all would be appreciated. The idea is to use the cars to draw the punters into buying a snag or a bandanna. With luck we can make it a massive day for both Canteen and the Classic Car guy's.
Gary thanks mate, have pencilled you and Lee along with Ken at Browns Plains but it would be good to have others to help and take the load off the few that have offered assistance so far.
Ideally I would like to have numbers sorted at all  three locations by the months end.
Maybe I'm asking too much?
Thanks guy's.
Junior come down on the treadly and say hello it is all low key.

Browns Plains all sorted.
When I started talking about this some months back with Andy and Hanna I knew it would be good for,...........Canteen,Bunnings and MOCA Qld.
From what I saw and heard  today it will be massive. The figures were way above what Hanna and I imagined a couple of weeks ago.

Kuraby it is Brett.
And no H Q till time to leave even tho it is a top spot to get some shade.
Am working out the roster but I can see it changing every other day.
Eskies are something that we really need, at least twelve good sized ones,,,,ie capable of holding in excess of 100kg of snags,,,,, a squillion cans of Coke ,,,,,enough onions to make an undertaker cry.

For those that don't have a Blue Card there is a simple one page form that I can email to you, that covers all the legalitties(spelling) This way all the  bases are covered and we can help Canteen big time. The members of Canteen are still raving about the April run, so you can imagine how keen they are to get this show off the ground.
To those that have offered help thank you, to those interested please come along even if only for a short time.
This hopefully will be an event that will be remembered with great pride and enjoyment.
You won't be sorry to have spent a couple of hours talking to these inspirational young people who have copped an unfair load of crap in their young lives.
Give me a call on 0411 115 867 and we can sort out the place and time that suits you best.
ps .. with a bit of luck next year we can make this a much bigger event and take it out of Brissie to some of the outlying areas.. I ONLY WISH..
JD.

For those of you who have an Event Volunteer Application Form from last weeks meeting the fax number is wrong, should read 3852 5845. Unfortunately it was on a form done before Canteen moved it's office.
All good , the phone is still ringing.
BRING IT ON....:(:(:(:(:(

Got an email asking if we can help up North.
Anybody able to assist?

Hello John

Great talking to you today, we truly appreciate all you are doing for CanTeen!!

As I mentioned on the phone what we were thinking in regards to National Bandanna Day here in Townsville this year was perhaps a bit of a presence from the Mustang Club at the local Cotters Markets on the 25th October. We set up a stall there and have our Members come and sell the bandannas.

Also we have a regional trip to Cairns from 22nd October to the 24th October, and having a Rec Day on the Saturday the 24th.   Having the Mustang Club help us out with that would be fantastic.

Look forward to hearing from you, the Townsville office details are below.

Thank you
Janine

Yeah it can be a pain in the butt never being home.
Got out of that a few years ago.
Next event mate.
Am working on something for late January. Maybe that could suit. It's a Canteen event to hopefully raise some dough for program funding.
Are you going 2morrow?
We'll be there, I enjoy the drive to Toowoomba, nothing like a good long cruise.
