I've been on this forum for a few months now and I've come to the conclusion that that 99% of the people on this forum are down to earth hard working Aussies with bills to pay and stresses like everybody else:(
Which brings me to my next question, do you own your "toy" outright or does the bank still has their evil tentacles on it.
It's just that I feel I'm busting my balls working, paying off my house and Mustang and getting nowhere.
If you're still paying your car off then I'd feel a bit better in knowing that I'm not alone, OR ,if you do own it outright, I'd better get my finger out and work even harder!

Own mine - had one for 7 years, the other for 3.
But I have a couple of jobs, as I'm a self confessed workaholic.

But yeah, they do take a back seat when it comes to bills and family. Not that the wife would admit though:+

Sold an investment property and bought mine with some of the profits, own all of it, refuse to give any bank anything any longer, they can go and get stuffed

Please don't get me wrong, I'm definately not judging anyone when I'm so low on the food(Mustang) chain.

own the car......dont own the house but, bank has a good hold of it
to many reno's and a swimming pool last year hurt bad, but oh how sweet it is to see the kids enjoy!!!!!!

Thats cool Johnny. I have been waiting 32 years to own my own !!!! My dream began when I was 8 so yes this year being my 40th I managed to live the dream !!!! Take that for what it is worth. However bloodyhell it was worth the wait !!!!!

Keep working mate........I am going for the new Iaccoca !!! Thats 275 k by 70 with deflation I should be good

I own mine, but I bought it 10 years ago as a bare shell and have been slowly working on it since then. I have bursts of energy and a heap of work gets done and then some bills pop up or the Mrs gets pregnant again(which is not a bad thing as I love my kids) and work on the stang grounds to a halt. Sometimes it gets me down and i lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel, if that happens i just cover it up and walk away, sometimes it has sat in the shed untouched for 6 months or more. But im getting close. My latest venture to raise money for the stang is to sell all the unused crap that i have accumulated in the shed on ebay, all the left over bits and pieces under the bench, from playing with Fords for the last 20 years.

Your missing a big opportunity here Pala, a precedent has been set. You really should buy her one for her 40th, something like a nice fastback or convertible should be fine. :+

hmmm...that's a hard one. Although the bank doesn't own it, "it" has owned me for a year by making me work two jobs to be able to afford the resto. If it wasn't for "it", I wouldn't have had to work two jobs.....so who owns who here?!::

Clear title, preferring to save up for non business cars.

Once an import is secured, the rebuild monster can be fed bit by bit as funds allow.

It's a shock though when you add up the bills after it's finally on the road.

I own mine. The bank had t for a while till I paid em back.

I do however rent a house from the bank...it is in my name but they still own it......oh well maybe in another 30yrs I might get it off them.

I know how you feel johnny_b...for me its time and money. I have the money and not the time and then the time and not the money. The two have yet to meet.
