I thought I would start a new topic on what people do for a living. I was in another forum that did the same and got a lot of good contacts in different fields. Not too much info just the basics so members might be able to contact you for advise.
OK I will start.
I am a financial controller working in the adventure tourism industry. A bit of a dull job but interesting clients.

I am a Panelbeater (retired TAFE teacher) that lives part time in Australia, California USA & occasionally Dongguan, China.

Hmmmm, what do I do for a living? I build muscle cars, hot rods & bikes in both the US & here. Can't say I "work" for a living !

:w

BTW, This should be an interesting topic !

I'm a controller of a different kind . A process controller, or 'Process Controlroom Technician' was my status before the financial crisis but now the new job after 3months of unplanned unemployment is a 'Production and Dispatch Co-ordinator'(cement and concrete additives/chemicals).  I do prefer the first mentioned after 10+ years in the mining industry working at nickel,gold,vanadium and titanium dioxide mineral processing refineries. Oh!, and I'm an ex-spray painter but was many years ago.:(

I do heavy automation and special effects for film,  theatre, TV, concerts, and large scale events around the world.

It's more of a hobby than a job, the only downside is I am never home to work on my cars... ;]

A couple of pics of me in the office

Medical Ret. from Police service.  Fitter and turner by trade.  Now starting own metal art business using CNC plasma cutter.  Anybody want a jazzy sign or art work out of aluminium let me know.  Have just completed a few car and bike  emblems, the Ford Mustang emblem might be interesting to some. http://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu179/s390gt/InghamCarshow.jpg

GT Sally,
Noticed you were a Aeronautical Design Draftsman, I wondered if you would picked on my living.
Boeing part # for a Hilok BACB30NZ()K()
Airbus part # for a Cherry rivet ASNA0078A()()
Boeing military part # ST3M758V()-()

At my previous company, I ran the J.I.T warehouse that supplied Boeing Melb & Sydney, just over 3000 fasteners in total.And most of them are still stuck in my head.
Who knew there is so many combinations of rivets ....

i was a foreman in a large warehouse for 14 years and got made redundant, been a bum for 3 months, now a very poorly paid storeman truck driver at a place that makes sheds
Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an 67, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on MOCA, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car...................
