I was reading in the latest Mustang Monthly that in the 60s Ford couldn't give away the street version of these.

They were like $5 or $6k which was pretty expensive for the day.

$5k or $6k is very expensive! That's almost double of what the top of the line Convertible's went for (which were the most expensive models over the Boss 429's and Mach 1's) at almost $4k!

It's only just out of my budget - if you took off 3 zeros that is.

Check out all the cars that will be auctioned along with the Shelby in mid-May. There are quite a few sweet looking rides there.
