Hey everyone. New to the forums here and thought i'd share my pride and joy!

My car is a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1. It's a Q code car with the Cobra Jet 351-4V engine. Currently sports a 750cfm Holley 4bbl and an FMX auto with stage 2 shift kit.

A little history on the car...

The car came from California as a wreck. Was used as a ranch/rally basher and had been repainted (by what looked like a brush or cheap can) with metallic blue! Looked terrible and the motor and interior were in bad shape. My father I spent 2 years restoring the car from the ground up. Every nut and bolt, every part of the motor, every interior piece of take apart, cleaned/replaced and refinished. We had the intention for this car to replace our daily driver at the time, so it's built for reasonable economy and respectable performance.
We used acrylic paint so as to not be too upset if someone dinged her in the shopping lot. The car was also converted to RHD, which was fairly easy to do as the dash is almost mirror.

Times have changed now though, and i've been doing some work on it, giving it some new goodies. 2PAK respray is on the cards in the future.

Options wise it's got the fold down rear seat, power windows, power disc brakes, tach and the optional combo cluster and Air Con etc. All the goodies that come with a Q code car.
The original color of the car was Pewter Metallic, but we chose something very slightly different, Ford Platinum. Pretty much the same as pewter minus the slight gold tinge.

Anyway, here are some shots of it.
Still need to get some engine bay shots, which ill post later.

And there it is!

Great forum guys and i'll be looking into getting a membership into the Vic club hopefully soon.

Thanks.
Kurt.

Welome to the forum Kurt. I am a little biased, but I love the 71-73 styling and also the way they drive.

Where abouts in Melbourne are you located in?

Enjoy your ride.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the comments! Some great people here.

Red71- Vic. How about yourself??

As promised, here are some pictures of the car as we got it off the dock's from Cali. To say it was a bit nerve wrecking is an understatement...and although your excited, you can't help but say to yourself.."what have i got myself into!". Although looking at the pics, i think it came up pretty good :) Just shows what can be done if you've got the patience.

And here's the engine bay, trunk and a lights on shot.

Keen to get into the club and attend some meets!
Thanks guys! Enjoy!

Hi Kurt.

Great work from what the car was like when it arrived here. I live in Kensington (inner west) and I am also a MOCA Vic member and try to get to as many club runs as possible. Having a convertible limits my enthusiasm when in is wet and cold though.

I won't be going this Sunday, but the club has a "CRUISE FOR LUNCH TO WHITTLESEA" – Departing from the Outbound Todd road Shell service station at 10.30am this Sunday April 26th. They will cruise up the highway to Whittlesea where they head to one of the local hotels for lunch. After lunch you will be able to have a look around town. Bookings are ESSENTIAL as lunch numbers are limited. Phone Adam & Narelle 9775 6074.
