Don't know about Central Qld,but if you travel to Bris occasionaly look up Diff Lappers. Or try phoning them 07 33594701 to see if they do mail order.Got some new gears and Auburn lsd here.Nice guys to boot!

sent an email to difflappers  3 days ago still waiting for reply. may  have to ring them tomorrrow .  , 9 ' seems like an expensive project by the time i find the diff cut it down recon the centre with the right ratio. would also end up doing the brakes to discs most likley, where does it stop:)

A lesson for all you young fellas out there, a 9 inch isn't the be all an end all.The 8 inch, technically 8 3/4  ring gear is only a 1/4 inch smaller, big deal. Parts are easy to source if you know where to look, and they can take a decent amount of horsepower. Always remember "Horsepower doesn't destroy diffs, traction does".

Thats great, but the question was where to get 8 3/4" gears. Easy to source? Please share this info.

Don't know about Melb but here in Bris,I know of 3 diff shops that can get gears, but the best one is the place I mentioned  in my previous post. They got me a set of new Lunati gears (3.5's) and even at that time asked if I wanted used Ford ones. Also they must have gotten them from down south because it  took a few days.
