2V Float setting

Does anyone know what is the correct wet float setting for the 2v autolite, for 66 289 with C4. No thermactor. My carb tag says it is a  C7DF-V
The manual I have says I should have a C6DF-B and the float level (wet) should be 0.875"
My manual does not mention the C7DF-V carb. In the absence of the setting for this carb I will try the C6DF-V setting (0.875) and see how it goes, but would appreciate it if anyone has the info on the C7DF-V carb

Hi Scott, sounds like you have a 67 carb. I cant imagine there being too much difference in float levels though, so you should be right with your other option.
If this is wrong I'm sure someone will help out.

Checked my float level yesterday, and found it was set at .750". Decided to leave it at that.
I had a spare carb here that I compared to mine. Both carbs main jets were the same, 50F. Here I should mention, the whole reason for all this was my engine was surging at cruise speeds.

What was different between the 2 carbs though was the booster venturis. The spare carb booster, had larger air bleed holes than what I had on my engine. So, I swapped that spare booster venturi in, and hey presto! no more surging and now runs a treat. Has even got rid of that little hesitation I used to get when accelerating from a stand still

Thanks for that Scott, I'm suffering similar surging probs myself. Looks like I'll have to keep playing with the mixture then.
