Update on Build
« on: January 25, 2009, 06:17:16 pm »
Hi All.
Thought i would post some new shots of the 67's progress (painfully slow as it is).
Havn't had a great deal of time to do any thing as i  have been through the mill over the past year!.
Lost my beautiful wife that f!@ck#* horrible disease, cancer.
45 years old with a four year old daughter. LIfe really sucks sometimes!.
PIcking up the pieces now though and the Muuzzy (alfter my girl) will be the focus in 2009.
I have the motor getting built at the minute.
Went with the 347 stroker. All the good gear (scat crank, forged pistons,ARP rods, melling oil pump, alloy heads , holley 650 etc).
Having it built fairly stout so that i have the option of a 150HP bottle down the track.
Whatdya reckon?

The car looks great.

Gutsy post 67hardtop!
Your wife would be so proud of your determination to go on with the Mustang Project. It looks fantastic.

I also have a 67 Hardtop but love your plans for this Pony.

Your daughter will love this car and I am sure you will get much enjoyment from it together.
I would love to see the finished product one day too.

May your journey now go smoothly!            Best wishes,     Johnno.   Melbourne.

Hi 67Hardtop

I hope that between your daughter and your Pony you have many years and miles of happiness ahead and find lots of reasons to smile and enjoy the journey. The car looks superb and it will be great to see it finished and on the road.  Here's to you and look forward to your future posts.

Thanks for all the kind words and support guys.
Its a bit like road accidents.
You know they happen everyday but you never think it will happen to you or someone you care for.
Obviously she was a gem. She understood that pouring the hard earned readies into a 40 odd year old piece of metal was something that i just had to do!!!
Any way, i might catch up with some of you at Bayswater in the morning if i make it down.
If not, i will get my A into G and join up the club.
Dont forget to give the cheese and kisses an extra hug!

Hi 67hardtop,

Sorry to hear, mate.

Its a gutsy effort to keep on with a project that your wife obviously gave you lots of support for.

Once finished you and your daughter will have many miles of happy driving in front of you.

All the best.

Hi 67Hardtop sorry to hear about your loss.

I did the same as you with the 347 engine build but I added a stud kit, top and bottom and a stud girdle just to keep it all together for the nitrous kit later.

67Hardtop, I speak from experience, unfortunately, when I say I know exactly what you're going through.....
I lost my mother at age 57 with the same f#$%n disease. She battled for nine years with it.
So enjoy the rebuild and I'm sure you'll enjoy the ride even more when its finished as you'll have had sweat and tears go into it so appreciate it even more....
