Australia Day.
« on: December 27, 2008, 11:17:50 am »
For those that missed the December meeting.

Australia Day Run.
Meet at the club at 7.45 for an 8am departure for the Bayside Vehicle Restorers Annual event at Ormiston State School.
Traditionally a club run and a huge show of cars.
The organisers put on brekkie, so don't worry about that
We will take a short run down to Ormiston for a couple of hours and then cruise back to our  clubrooms in the company of the Corvette Club for a few hours of B.S and just a good time.
Lunch will be provided for the princely sum of five bucks and the bbq will get a huge flogging. The opportunitty to mix with members of another club who also enjoy the comraderie of owning something a bit different from the every day Hyundai that some unfortunate  buggers have to drive, makes this a day not to miss.
For those that did not attend the December meeting if you could please let me know weather you intend to turn up on the day before Jan 17 for catering reasons it would be really appreciatted.
Thanks all

count me in John,
as long as I get the car back together in time,
seems to be dragging on a bit, but hopefully she will be finished by then

Don't need the car Lee  take time as I am sure you will, the lunch and after is as good as the morning.
Am having a few too many sherbets at the moment what with pre Chrissie and after parties the poor car is being forgotten.
Oh well can't do everything;+

Onya Rohan.
You might have to get the family out of the pit early but it is a good day and is getting bigger every year. Looking forward to catching up with you, we can meet on the way again if that suits you.
Cheers JD.

Hi John,
Jenny and I will be there definitely.
Last year's Australia Day was my first run with the club.
Isn't your car ready yet,Lee? What have you done to it?Is your quarter mile time below 16 seconds yet?

Lee,
Jenny and Cheryll will be staying at the Clubhouse to help with the barbie so there should be spare seats in Andrew's and my Mustang if you want to hitch a ride to Ormiston.

Bob
you now what its like, you start one thing and you cant stop.
so I've done all of it,
overhauled gearbox, new lsd diff, engine has had the block bored, honed, and decked, stroked to 393cu, dart alley heads, roller rockers and roller cam, just waiting to see if i need a new carbie,
now if that doesn't improve the 16 seconds  I'm buying a bloody daewoo

Now Lee you don't have to go that far,I am sure there were
certain circumstances out of your control on that run.By the way Lee I believe there was a Yank ran a 4.98@501kmh last
weekend. You would be close to that now surely.
Hey Bob cars fine and will see you on Aussie day run.You gonna wear that apron again or what?

Hi guys,
Happy New Year. Unfortunately I'll be in Chicago so will miss this one. Cars got the wheels off overhauling the wonderful drums and adding a booster. Hopefully won't be off the road too long. Mid February I reckon. Lee can't wait to see how that runs for you. Have a good run guys and catch you at the Feb meeting.
Cheers,

Tom

Sounds great,Lee.
So the Mustang bug has bitten you.Have you fired it up yet?How does it sound? And the last important question - what have you had to buy Tracey for pay-back?
I've just ordered a Holley 570 Street Avenger and new manifold but I don't think that I'll be in the same league as you and Darryl.
Oh well that 347 stroker is looking like an option now.
