:_ Hi again,
Well I have got the whole light switch lose with the locking part undone but still it wont come out of the dash.  (Yes needle nosed pliers worked well to losen the front locking cap) The knob itself does not have a small worm screw and as it is part of the whole shaft on the pull out mechanism it appears to not want to come out of the switch control in the dash.
Very close to using a 4 pound hammer!!!!!!

;} No, don't use that hammer, on the switch itself, theres a little botton/knob sticking up, which you have to press down to remove the light switch Knob. Once you press that botton, just pull the knob and it should come out easy. Don't use to much force it may cause more damage to switch. Hope that helps. Regards Mustang Kid.:(
