Ah but police have radar guns that go troppo when faced with a beam from a detector.

And with denying revenue being somewhat frowned upon.......

there follows a fine like the national debt that will have you wishing you'd only been done for speeding.:_

Trust our kiwi cousins to come up with a radar detector detector. These have been on the market for a while now and      work.....
Even better than what is available to the law enforcement officers on our highways.

As I say  you have to get caught using the detector detector.
There is always someone more clever than our beloved government fundraising comrades Private industry STAND UP and BE PROUD.

My radar detector is fairly late model and scans both forwards and backwards and can detect upto 10 radars, it also picks up speed cameras and laser, the only thing with laser though is it's usually hand held and pointed at your car and by the time your detector goes off the bloke holding the laser has already nabbed you.:+

The good ones are very good but sometimes pick up things like railway signals etc. It;s a matter of getting used to the model that you use.
But we in Gods own state obey the road rules to the inth and so do not have any need to worry about the state fundraising department.:f:f:f:f

Why bother, cleaned to many bodies up off roads, no point in speeding there use the track, that way you don't need a detector.:[

Lakeside racetrack is open again for sprint racing. Just need rego and a helmet and long sleeves. Then go to town with your mates. No radars there.

Hey its not the speeding its the DEAD STOP at the end.

Speed is a factor...not the cause. It is the cause for more serious injury and a greater chance of death.

Not sure what the Licensing system is like in QLD but here in WA its TOTALLY F*#KED. You do a hazard perception test on a computer WTF????? how is that supose to help make you a better driver.

Anyway until the Pollies pull their heads out of their A55 and fix the basics we will continue to have needless deaths on our roads.

Anyway I will get off my soapbox on this issue.

Anyway from what I recall here in WA they are illegal to use but not own...I cant remember the charge but they can charge you for using it.

Shawn

I agree.  Governments need to spend their money on things that won't give them a return.   Lifting fines, speed cameras and the like give the appearance of doing something, but in fact they are not slowing people down they are earning more revenue for the government.  The only way to avoid paying this tax is to obey the speed limits and lobby for sensible road laws.  Now I am on my soapbox again and I apologise.

Where is the police presence on our roads? Other than speed cameras and radar, more for combinened council to work on?

if you think a $99 radar detector will help you, you would be better off sending the money straight to Captain Bligh along with your car keys for her collection. may as well buy a bicycle too
