Ballarat Nationals Update
« on: August 13, 2008, 07:55:18 pm »
Hi to the committee ,any chance on getting an update on accomodation options in Ballarat for your Nationals? I note a couple of comments on the forum indicating that your prime location may already be fully booked.
WA are tying to get a group together to come over and any info to spur on interest would be great. We have the DVD and tourist pamphlet which will help. I'm sure other states would also gain from anything you can publish here.
Thanks in anticipation.

Just do a search at " Ballarat Accomodation". I did and have booked a Bed and Breakfast place 3 mins from the Official accomodation.
There are plenty of motels, B&B, hotels etc but remember its Easter and a good few are well advanced with general easter business.
I found that the B&B places offered superior accommodation at better prices. It might be an issue though if you need a group to all stay together.

G'day, yep the main accommodation venue for the Nationals is booked out. There are a few rooms still available at our secondary accommodation. We are negotiating a third venue at the moment. Buses will leave designated accommodation venues each night for the evening function venues. For more info and registration forms see the Victorian or National home pages or give me u2u or send an email. Please call us to confirm accommodation availability before sending registration. Cheers Pete

I suggest that you contact someone from the Victorian club (as you are in Ballarat). If you want to have you car judged, I think membership is require. I suspect you can display your car (within thier rules) is you are not a member.
Have a look at the Victoria MOCA page for their contact details.

on that note, I attended the meeting last night to my disgrace there was very little ballarat community attendance

to summarise.... they are very proactive on having security for mustangs at all three accommodation venues

and they want anyone who has a mustang to be there on sunday on the city oval what ever the condition

cheers

G'day all, just an update for your info.
We are still taking dinner bookings for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and will do so until the week before Easter. All MOCA accommodation is now booked out, but there are heaps of other motels around Ballarat to choose from.
On Thursday 9th there are no organised events, but registration and merchandise will be open at the Mid City Motel in the morning and again in the afternoon for a short period.
Friday 10th there are no organised events during the day, so come to the Mid City Motel to receive your registration pack and dinner tickets etc. Merchandise will also be on sale.
Friday Night Meet & Greet Dinner, please wear your state Mustang Club shirt.
Saturday 11th and registration & merchandise is open from 9.00 to 11.00, the Observation Rally and sausage sizzle is leaving Ballarat at 11.00am. If you aren't wearing your 09 Nationals lanyard and registration pass, you will not get your free feed/drink at the finish point of the rally. Saturday Night Gold Rush and Dinner Dance featuring the amazing 5 piece band "Boss Nine and the 302's".
Sunday 12th 2009 Mustang Nationals and Concours.
Entry for judged classes has now closed, but anyone driving a
Mustang is welcome to put it on display on Sunday, whether a MOCA member or not. You will need to have your car inside the show venue before 9.30am. You will be issued with a wristband so you can come and go as you please whilst your car is on display. If you drive your Mustang into the show for display, entry for driver and passengers is FREE. All Mustangs will be required to remain on display until 3.00pm. Please support the Redan Football club who are looking after all of the catering on the day. There will be several options for a feed onsite, from sausages in bread and other take away to sit down bistro meals and bar service. Hopefully the weather gods will smile upon us and we have a good day.  Sunday Night Gala Presentation Dinner.
Monday 13th, Mustang run to a lunch venue to be advised.
If you have any questions please dont hesitate to call or email. Have a great Easter everyone, Cheers Pete R.

Hev, Suggest you book & pay for dinners you want to attend. Have a close look at the schedule and let the organisers know. Look forward to meeting another 67 owner, Johnno.

Hev

There was an entry form in the Pony express. When filled out you would have indicated what you wanted in the way of accommodation, dinners, car entry etc.

When paid, a receipt was sent back to you and on that receipt all details of the payment is on it. That's what is on mine.
