How do I register my car in Queensland? I'm moving from W.A. I have a 69 Mach1, right hand drive, has engine mods (427 stroked small block), air con and 4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes. Are there restrictions on wheel size for front & back, do they need to be the same like here in WA. Car is registered here in WA. Do you think I'll have much trouble?

My 68 coupe was Vic registered but I had to get retractable front seat belts and child-seat anchorage points on the rear parcle shelf(useless).
Once I had those I was given a blue plate for the modifications  by an approved engineer and took the paper work in and registered it.
Dept of Transport didn't even look at the car.
Yours looks in good shape so it shouldn't be too hard as long as you find a sympathetic engineer.
Bob
(Not sure about the wheel size issue)

Welcome to the Sunshine State.
The fact it has been registered in another State really only means you will not have to pay stamp duty again as each State requires their own full paperwork and compliance process for registration.
QLD requirements stipulate an LO2 compliance certificate (with modification plate affixed to the car) and can only be done in conjunction with a current Safety Cerificate. LO2 is mainly for seatbelts/child restraints and headlights and Safety Certificate for the operational & mechanical items.
If you want concessional rego you will have to be a member of a Club and have the appropriate dating letter (MOCA QLD can assist here) and you guessed it...more forms.
Link for forms and to read more about it -

With my 65 convertible, all i had to produce was proof of previous rego in Australia & a road worthy certificate. It does not have a l02 mod plate or retractable seat belts, i was in DMR office for about 10 minutes.

It will depend on who does the road worthy I think. When they get to the box that says "is the car modified," does it have a "Mod plate" is where you run in to trouble. Really they should tick yes it's modified (RHD etc) and no it doesn't have a plate. Which means they can't give they can't  road worthy.  Do you have an engineers report on the RHD conversion etc? LO2 is to register a LHD car, seat belts, lights etc. Ring John Greene At Probe engineering in Wynnum, he will know what you need.

I called QLD licencing and spoke to them directly and was told that because my car has been registered continuously in Australia since 1984 (QLD looked that up on their National data base) all I need is a LS2 certificate for the RHD conversion issued by an engineer over there, a safety certificate, I'll be issued a mod plate and I got my rego. I'm happy about that. Sounds pretty well much like what Bob (BLU302) said right at the start.
Thanks all for your input.

So John or the other local guy to me is Earl, either could do the mod plate, John is quite particular with RHD conversions though, like them to correct in the steering, He is doing a Mac1 right now almost finished. May pay to let him look at it, cause he can tell how to get it to steer better if it's not right. Earl does all the Corvette QLD compliacne I think.

The GC is nice didn't get to the SSC but we are definately moving over. Gonna move close to the daughter so somewhere in the GC with a rural outlook like Tallebudgera Valley is looking good at this stage. We all can't wait:f  Oh the Stang is running sweet too btw.
