Well I've finally bitten the bullett.
FULL REPAINT.
After cutting out rust around the tail-lights,both rear quarters and one sill, redoing the drip rails both sides of the roof(uneven sealer) and having blotches and rough areas on the bonnett and boot-lid , I'm having a complete re-paint.
The paint looks great from a distance but I'm really aware of the imperfections
I'm not a nutter am I ?
I hind sight I should have bought a project cause I can see myself re-doing everything eventually.
Jenny has dragged the cost out of me so now I can see big pay-back too.

Bob.As far as I know the first thing about our cars and money is,..never tell the truth.
I take it that you'r car is out of action for a few months.
I will be happy to be in the position to be able to get a few things done on Big Red that have been hanging for quite some time after the AGM.Where to draw the line is my problem.:a:a:a

No Paul,it's staying blue-mainly because it's the original colour,although I was offered the option of adding a bit more bling-Candy Apple Blue maybe.

Thanks,Darryl.It's good to know who your mates are. So far the plan is to be back on the road before the end of August,but I'm not rushing it at the expense of getting it done properly.
There is a 68 fastback body at the body shop with a 390 big block waiting to go back in it.It's for sale and he can paint it any colour.I'd love a Bullitt fastback replica but I'd have to sell the coupe.

I haven't asked the price cos then I'd try to scrape the money together.
This place is the one that advertises in our monthly magazine and from the metal patches he replaced the rust with he does good work.
He also had a silver 67 fastback with a 347 stroker in it with shelby side scoops and a scoop on the bonnett all fabricated out of metal(not for sale)-very nice.
He seems to be as obsessive/compulsive as me so I'm expecting a top job.

Bob are you talking about the bloke at Sumner Park.  My mate who painted my car has a shop around the corner and rates his work very highly.

Yes,it is the body shop at Sumner Park.He advertises in our MOCA Mustang News as "60's Rust". First point of contact is Paul Kurzok(the owner) on 0438 730 943.I think Paul is in Europe at the moment so he may not answer his phone first up but he'll ring you back.
The shop is in a multi unit complex in Jijaw Street Sumner Park and the head blokes name is Hugh.
From what I've seen so far they do good work but I would wait until they've finished mine before I would recommend them.
It took me a couple of months before I could get my car in,and I think they're busier now.
Good thing is they only do restos not general panel work.

JMD do u mean generally or??  I am still scratching my head as whether to go a coupe, converti or a FB.  The mind is well and truly boggling! :_

It's like most things in life....as soon as you have one, the others always look more attractive.
Generally speaking, Fastbacks and Convertibles will always be more appealing, and of those, it is down to personal opinion.
Fastback (1965) was the choice for me however after doing the coupe thing first.
