347 Stroker Kits
« on: March 02, 2006, 10:55:03 pm »
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has done a 347 stroker engine and could recommend a good kit.

I am also considering a ford racing crate engine with the GT 40 heads, has anybody out there bought one?

Cheers,

Hi, CVEPerformance.com built a 347 stroker with alloy heads, and a Vortech T trim Blower. It makes 360KW at the wheels! and is completely streetable. The kits he uses are good, and reasonably priced. They are Melbourne based, and can ship components for you.

VPW in Epping (vic)

I am running a 347 scat crank and rods etc.

Bring your money with you.:(

For the same price as building a 347 you can build a 408 (351 stroker) But it comes down to how much you want to spend and what you want out of that particular engine.

On the site that nassi mentioned ask "two89w" he has a 347 aswell.:a

Can the rest of your drive train handle a stroker engine?

I am running a reasonably stock 351w, and it has a built C4 and a stock 8" diff, and it handles it OK

Hi Guys, Thanks for the information. I don't necessarily want a hot rod, just something streetable with some extra oomph.

My thoughts are a lazy 347 would be a better street motor than a worked 289/302.

The Ford crate engines look like pretty good value though...
