Seems our South Australian and Canberran members had a ball traveling east to west for the 2008 Nationals.

Im thinking about hitting the road.

How many West Aussies interested in driving across for 2009 via Adelaide of course, joining up with memebers before journey on to Ballarat?

You will need a Mustang that isnt too pretty, I know some Shelby drivers etc will be too precious to risk the journey :w, a sense of adventure and a fuel tanker following behind (Rossco) :(

Its a long way to go and we probably need to start planning now :2

Yes Craig, I am interested in the trip. Not sure about taking a Mustang though, not the most comfortable thing to drive that far.

yeah I think I would be going in the Mustang, uncomfortable etc as it may be, if it wasnt going I'd probably just fly Jas.

I cant believe MisterMustang can call himself that, he has more Mustangs than you can poke a gear stick at and wants to go in the luxurious comfort of his Falcon.... I think we should just line up a tour bus for those not tough enough :f :w

Mate I'm a sook and by the way its bacon and egg pie. Quiche is just to flash for me.
I'll think about the alternatives but the ute is much nicer and I can sleep in the back. :+

Yeah but it would make the rest of us feel good about our economy, relatively speaking. :+

Hmmmm temping, the old girl is in storage at the moment and if things go to plan, we should be in the new house by then and she'll need a blast across the nullabor to clean out the cobwebs!....keep me posted on the details.

I can raise it at the next meeting and whip up some more interest, it would be good to get across in numbers, we can support the Vics even though none could make it this year ;]

All we need to do is get them to move the nats, bathurst and summernats so that they are all around the same time and hey presto 3 weeks of absolute car heven.

Get to it guys.....look forward to seeing u all finally.  Couldn't make your Nationals as we had a few last minute hitches but will guarantee to more then make up for it in '09.  Should almost be guaranteed I will have mine by then unless the ship takes a sharp turn and she slides off.....;]

Couple of neat Mustang shops in Ballarat too for parts should some of u need them....:+  hopefully not!

hey craig, i suggest if you're going to do the nullabour, get your self a jack and some spare wheel nuts. on the dowerin run i squeazed 240 miles out of my tank so by the time we leave at $2.40 a litre the way fuel is going up i think that powerbal idea has some merit. seriously though i would love to do it and after our nationals i was certainly ready to do it and it still may happen

ok, so that is Nassi (no excuses about not taking the convertible), Brian (in a Shelby), Shawn (pushing his from Kal), Charlie (keen to blow out the cob webs) Andrew (calculating the cost of petrol and brownie points :2) and JC (taking one of his bridal cars).

We have a small contingent of possibles so far, not bad.  Might be an idea to do a bit of fund raising via the club for fuel..... :o or to contribute to cost of sending our members and their cars east...... Just a thought, any feedback on that idea?
