Bonnet vents
« on: November 15, 2023, 11:10:03 pm »
Hey Gents, got a question for the knowledgeable,
Looking at a bonnet on a ‘67, it has two vents about 1/3 of the way back from the front, running across the bonnet, l believe it may have indicators in them.?
Was this type of bonnet linked to a particular code of vehicle, was it an option, was it for big blocks,
Haven’t been able to find out yet on the usual sites,
Any facts much appreciated,
Thanks Reborn67

That style hood was originally offered as an option on 1967-1968

Forgot to add, the vents are designed o have turn signals fitted in there.

Hey guys,
My car has this type of bonnet and the turn signal lights.
I think it was a GT, GTA or California special option for 67 - 68.
I’m not sure about the effectiveness of the scoops as far as heat removal from the engine bay.
The scoops are a pain when washing the car as soap goes all over the engine and you get water marks.
The turn signal lights are brilliant, you see the turn signals are on or left on in your vision.
Cheers Phil.

Thanks Gents, so the consensus is it was a option, not part of a K or S code,
