Finally - I found great 7in DRL lights for a good price, great light pattern!

Edz:
I've had halo's on for about 6 years but most of the eBay lights have a terrible beam pattern. I finally found 2 that work with good DRL and great beam. I was about to outlay AU$400 on Stedi lights which have a guaranteed good light output and rave reviews but I came across an eBay light I bought for $127 which I'm very impressed with, I would say it's 80-90% the quality beam of a Stedi. This is the links to the eBay light and Stedi (they have 3, but only one is a drl). I noticed it's $156 now but bulk buy is cheaper. I posted pics of the light below for when the ebay link disappears. The light on eBay is called 'Pair 7''Inch 210W Round LED Headlights Hi/Lo Beam DRL Headlamps for GQ PATR'.

The light pattern on the road is great with a good cut-off on low beam and I don't get flashed by anyone. High beam has a great spot and lights up the road. You can see in the shots of my headlights how bright they are even on low beam. I'm going to disable my indicators and just use the headlights as they are very bright and one side had a slight timing issue.

Buggsie63:
Thanks for this Edz. I was looking at the Stedi lights for my 65 coupe. Did you have to make any modifications to the buckets to install these or were they basically ‘plug and play’?

Edz:
They looked quite deep but fitted straight in without mods. I'm very happy with their output and the drl and indicator are super bright. At $127 on ebay they were less than a third the Stedi price.
These are now $153 but eBay plus ($5/month) gives you $5 off straightaway. If you buy 3 lots (with 2 other people) bulk buy drops to $135. I haven't found anyone selling them locally only this one set from China but I got them in 2 weeks.

I've bought a lot of different LED lights and most were garbage with lots of glare and odd light patterns so I've returned quite a few. If they come from China they never want you to return them because postage cost is high so they will generally offer you a big discount to keep them. The pics they use to sell them showing the beam on the road is photoshopped in a lot of cases, you can see that because they sell different lights with the same road photos.

I have eBay plus so with a lot of items if I didn't like them I had 30 days to return them and you get express post on a lot of items for $5/month.
I've saved $360 on purchases over 6 months for a cost of $30 for eBay plus.

Dwayne:
Stedi are also just cheap Chinese imported lights.

Our Lightforce ones are made here in Australia.

Edz:
Probably right, all Chinese and rebadged! I can't see any Lightforce 7 in lights when i googled?

I'm pretty happy with the lights I posted.
