i have a 2016 mustang ecco boost and just in front o f the radiator/intercooler there is a small rubber flap length of radiator and about 10 cm wide.
it is held up with two like cable ties (very flimsy)and is allowed to rotate roughly.does any one have any explanation of what this is and how its supposed to operate.
thanks edmond

Hey zorro,
A few radiators have a flaps that opens at speed to allow air through the radiator without going through the thermos and is sucked closed by the thermos when the cars standing.
Does it appear it could be that!
Cheers Phil.
Hey Zorro,
I just went on YouTube and it is called an active grill shutter.
Sounds like it shuts off air through the grill in the cold?
Cheers Phil.

i just had a look and i cant see that there is anything that will close off the grill but this stupid little piece of rubber that may operate with the air flow but i dont think very well

Hey zorro,
There is a heap of grille delete videos on YouTube about the eco boost Mustangs.
Seems like it’s a performance thing.
Hard to say for me, My 68 Mustang definitely doesn’t have one, I’m just guessing!
Cheers Phil.
